~Purple Is The New Black~

Ben's Point Of View

{Setting~ King Adam (Beast) and Queen Belles throne room, Auradon Palace}

"Ben, you have been king for a month now. You need to find yourself a queen." my mother instructed and I put my head in my hands.

"Mum, I have Mal. She will be queen." I demanded and my father glared at me.

"Son, isn't it enough that you bought four villains into Auradon? Do you really need to marry one of them too?" he asked and I found it difficult to contain my anger.

"There not villains dad. You were there when all of them chose good. I love Mal, she means the world to me."

They both looked at me skeptically. "But does she love you son?" My mum put her hand on my knee comfortingly.

The truth is, I don't know if Mal loves me. She told me I make her happy but never that she loves me. I can't blame her. Its not like she had the most loving mother in the world.

"She just needs time." I assured my parents, before standing up and leaving the room. I need to talk to Mal.

Evie's Point Of View

{Setting~ Mal and Evie's dorm room, Auradon Prep}

Mal was pacing back and forth, creating a draft in the room. "Mal, could you just sit down or pace out there?" I pointed to the door and she huffed before storming towards it and outside.

I was concentrating on my sewing when I hear two pairs of footsteps outside, then two voices. I creep over to the door and press my ear against it.

"I have something for you." someone said. It sounded like Ben.

"Oh..." Mal replied and I heard her tear the wrapping of something and then a gasp.

"Its beautiful. Purple is the new black you know."

"I'm glad you like it. I was hoping you would wear it to the gazebo tonight. Seven o'clock?" Ben suggested.

"Okay." Mal agreed and then I heard footsteps growing quieter as they went down the hall.

I opened the door to a flustered Mal standing on the other side. "He's not breaking up with you silly." I said and she turned to me and smiled.

"Yeah I totally over reacted. Now come on, help me get ready."

Carefully, I did Mal's makeup and she changed into the new gorgeous purple dress. It was lacy and a deep, rich purple. It suited her because of her hair. When she was ready, she left and went to the gazebo.

Mal's Point Of View

{Setting ~ Gazebo, Enchanted lake, Auradon}

"Hey." Ben greeted as I arrived at the gazebo. There was a picnic there, just like our first date.

I leaned against one of the beams and crossed my arms. "Hey, did you bring strawberries?" I asked and he nodded his head. My face broke out into a huge grin and I ran over excitedly.

We sat and spoke about things for a while and ate the food. Ben really did make me feel happy. I really want to know what love feels like, but I just don't know and its not fair.

"So, my parents were talking to me today about the throne... and how there needs to be a queen." Ben began and I tried to hide my terrified expression. "They don't think you love me." he continued and my breathe caught in my throat. "And I don't know if you love me either." My heart broke in two.

"I...I... I don't know what-" but Ben cut me off.

"Its okay. I understand. You don't know what love feels like. But I told you, I'm going to help you find out." he assured me and I rested my head on his shoulder.

"Thank you." I whispered and he put his arm around my waist.

"You wanna know something crazy? I thought you were going to break up with me, so I went to Jane for advice and she made me set her up on a date with Carlos." I laughed and Ben joined in.

"Jane and Carlos. Weird couple." Ben said and I smiled. "Yeah and its not going to happen. Carlos refused to go on a date with her." I stood up and wiped any crumbs off my dress and held out my hand.

"Shall we?" I asked as Ben slid his hand into mine.

"We shall."
