Princess Divergent 2: Lost Love

Chapter 3

I open my eyes and Carlton is gone. I'm sitting here surrounded by trees.

Don't panic. I'm sure he'll be right back.

3 people with black hoods on come walking towards me. Was this really a trap? Are they going to kill me ? I was promised by Johanna AND Carlton...

I sit up and scoot to the other side of the carriage away from them. I stand up and move farther away until I'm at the edge of the carriage.

They all stop. They turn to each other and look back at me. 2 of them break into a sprint towards me.

I gasp and hop off the carriage. I try to run but my belly doesn't make me very fast. I make it about 7 feet and hide behind a thick tree. I see the 2 men pass by me swiftly. I close my eyes and take a long deep breath. I hear a crack and open my eyes and there's a man standing there.

"AH!" I yell.

Before I could take a step, the man holds down my arms. I struggle to get out his grip but the other 2 men pick my legs up and they carry me back to the carriage.

"Let me go!"

I squirm in their hold but, again, my stupid belly gets in the way.

I am set back in the carriage where Carlton stands, holding his hands behind his back.

"Forgive me, Princess. I had to make arrangements." He bows.

"So you sent them to chase me into the woods? I'm 7 months pr-" I stop myself. I don't want to give out that type of information here.

"I'm sorry but we had to get you up and moving. Follow me."

Carlton turns around and walks into another set of trees. The guards follow while still carrying me.

"I can walk you know!" I snap ferociously.

"Can't have that either Princess. We don't want you passing out."

I lift my head up. "Passing out from what ?"

We stop at a small building the size of my bedroom.

Carlton turns to me. "Meeting Amy."

I'm meeting Amy right now? I thought that was just a code name...

He opens the door and I cautiously walk in, analyzing my surroundings.

There stands 2 people in hoods. They both turn around and the first stranger removes its hood.

Only it's not a stranger. It's Caleb...

"Hello Beatrice. Good to see you, even under these circumstances."

"What are you doing here Caleb? I was going to see you in Erudite..."

Caleb tells the men to release me and he grabs both of my hands.

"Well, these are different circumstances."

Another stranger comes out of the shadows and takes off its hood.

"Hello Beatrice. I'm Amy and I'll be assisting you're pregnancy." Amy states.

My eyes nearly pop out of their socket.

She looks exactly like me.

I'm sorry I took so long 😭 it's been nearly 3 months I know. Things have been rough around my house and it's finally getting better. And it's summer ! I've had this chapter for 2 months and added like 2 sentences and decided to publish it. You guys waited long enough.
