The wind blew around me, cool and crisp, and the sun was about to set over the lake near where I lived, well in the spring and summer at least. My family had two house and both were equal in luxury and both were large enough to house a family of ten easily. I was lucky, very lucky in fact. I had always had what I needed and I could rest easy that I always would. Sometimes, however, I wish I were on my own. No parents, no money, no anything. It sounds odd, but sometimes I wish for nothing more.
As I walked at a leisurely pace towards my house I took in a deep breath. The summer was almost over, and autumn was in the air. It was my favorite season, but sadly before it could come into full bloom, I would be on my way back to Florida with my family for the cooler months. Perhaps I would ask to stay here with my friend Noah and his family.
Noah is a nice guy, and so are his parents and sister, Ari. I don't have many friends because I never thought it was necessary. Noah and Ari are the only two real friends I have had whenever I was in Illinois, and in my opinion they were two of the best people in the world. I smiled a bit as I thought of them, but the moment passed quickly as I realized the time to leave them drew nearer and nearer.
Then, I heard my phone buzz in my pocket. A text from Ari.
Fight on Hampton Ave. Five hundred dollars worth of bets on you, my friend. Better not lose, loser. - Ari.
I grinned. I haven't fought in awhile and one last brawl was all I needed to get my mind off of the changing seasons and everything that was to come.
I cracked my knuckles and made my way toward Hampton Avenue. I was a champion, and this is what I was born to do.
