Canada's POV

I noticed that since (Y/n) got here she had been spacing out all of a sudden. She would space out while cooking pancakes and while eating them. I wonder what's going on in that head of hers, sometimes I wonder if she even enjoys my company. Or if I just annoy her since it's pretty clear to me that she is the kind of person who prefers to be alone. But parts of me don't think that since I can tell when her smiles where real or not.

Well here's the difference. Her fake smiles where just 'smiles' that's it really, but her real Smiles weren't just smiles it gets accompanied by a sweet glow in her eyes that told me she was happy.

I wonder if she thought of me in her head, I always wondered what she thought of me. If she liked me at all. It was already night time and we had some fun playing video games in the console Alfred gave me for Christmas.

"I'm getting sleepy.." she said her eyes drooping down.

"Okay you can go to sleep of you want." I said turning off the console.

"Mhmm okay..." she said and stood up as she did she became a little wobbly. And I'm glad that I catches her from falling. I helped her get to her room and she Imediently went for the bed.

"Good night maple! " I said with a smile.

"Good night.." she said sleepily and before you know it she was already asleep. I found the confidence to gently kiss her forehead since she was asleep. I wanted to give her so much affection all the time but her reaction once I'm done would scare me into not doing it.

"Let's go Kuma she needs her rest." I said and we both went out the room.

Me and (Y/n) already finished breakfast when I thought of something we can do.

"Hey Maple do you want to go Ice skating?" I asked her.

"I'd love to! Though I'd have to warn you I do think know how to skate...." she said embarrassed.

"I'll teach you! It's gonna be fun (Y/n)!" I said with a smile.

"Alright let's go!" She said and jumped out of the couch to get ready. I stood up to get ready too.

We where already at the Ice rink. The ice rink is one of the places I'd get noticed in, partially because I was here all the time and I've become friends with the Hockey players and Ice skaters here. They'd say hi to me and inform me the schedules of the games and teams, I can watch and participate in. They even accepted Kumajiro here even if animals such as 'polar bears' aren't allowed here. I love this place but being the shy person I am, I only had acquaintances with the people I've met.

I went to grab the ice skates for both of us when the old lady who works there and who I became aquainted to since I cam here often, noticed that I brought a girl.

"I'm so happy you finally have a girlfriend Matthew!" The lady said and I just gave a smile.

"She isn't my girlfriend well not yet at least..." I said.

"I'm gonna give you an advice being the lady myself, Girls love chocolates! You should get her some." She suggested.

"Maybe I will..." I said thinking about it then the lady handed me the 2 skates. "Thanks!" I said and ran back off to (Y/n). I grabbed (Y/n)'s feet and took of her shoes.

"Mattie it's alright I'm sure I can put these on myself." She said a faint blush spread on her cheeks, I blushed too realizing that I didn't even ask permission to put the skates on her. She put on her skates and I did too.

"Alright.. I think I'm ready." She said, as she tried to stand up but failed and she luckily didn't fall but she just show u relates at back down again. I didn't realize it but I giggled at her gestures.

"H-hey this is my first time skating alright! And plus these skates are really heavy..." she said looking down.

"It's alright ill teach you anyways.. come on let's go to the Ice rink and I'll teach you how to skate." I said and held my hand so that she can stand up correctly. I already noticed she had trouble walking to the ice rink I wonder how bad she'd be in skating... that wasn't a let down at all! I find it cute that she doesn't know how to skate. And I had the perfect opportunity to get close to her! It's a win-win. I had just been smiling at my thoughts when she looked at me.

"Hey! What are you smiling on about.." she said as she held my arm very tightly trying to take steps as I did.

"It's nothing..." I said and giggled. She's annoyed now, she's so cute when she's annoyed.

Once we got to the entrance I stepped in the ice first and held my hand out for her.

"Promise me you won't let go alright." She said as she gripped my hand.

"I'd never let you go Maple.. now take a step, and I promise you I'll catch you if you fall!" I said reassuringly. Then she took a step and her other free hand Immediently gripped mine. I pulled her in closer to me since she was probably gonna fall if I let her go. I felt my cheeks turn red when I realized how close we where.

"See maple your doing fine!" I said, as we glided in the middle of the rink. When we did she gripped my hand more trying to catch up always slipping but I'd always be there to balance her.

"I-im not... your just holding me if you let me go I'll fall!" She said.

"Let's try shall we?" I asked trying to let her go of my arm.

"Hey! Mattie out of all the people don't do this to me!" She said and I just giggled. I skated back to the sides so that she can hold the rails instead of my hands and so she did. I looked down on her feet and it was all very wobbly then suddenly she slipped and her butt hit the cold hard ice.

"Ouch!" She shouted in pain, I held my hand up to help her and she gripped my hand again.

"It's alright... just hold on to the rails.." I said and gave a few small giggles at her.

"Mattie.. I have a new found respect for you. Skating is so hard..." she said as her other hand gripped my shoulder. She was still a little wobbly and I noticed how very inexperienced she was. Well it was her first time and I'm sure she'll get better if we do this everyday!

"You'll get better with practice Maple!" I said skating to the middle with her, she lost my grip a few times and I had to pick her up since she kept slipping on the ice. I've never seen my (Y/n) so unguarded with her thoughts, she relied on me for safety and I'm not gonna disappoint her at all!

"Hey.. Mattie I have a question.." she asked looking away from me a tint of red spread on her cheeks.

"Hmm.. what is it?" I asked her as we glided in the middle when she suddenly slipped and I had to pick her up again.

"Do you have any friends here in Canada?" She asked me and I began to think for a bit.

"Well. Only acquaintances.. I'm too shy to get to know them.." I said.

"Hmm... maybe ill teach you how to be less shy. Maybe just enough so that you can talk to people properly." She said and smiled at me.

"I'd love that!" I said.

"Mattie!" Someone called the voice was a bit female, I wonder who it could be.
