Chapter 1:

Ava's POV:

I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock going off. I moaned loudly and slammed down on the snooze button. Luckily for me I immediately fell back to sleep.

"Ava!" I woke up again but this time to the sound of mother.

"Get up! Your going to be late for school!" She yelled barging into my room pulling my covers off. I looked at the clock reading 6:30. "Shit!" I said getting out of bed rushing to my closet.

"Language Ava" I ignored my moms comment while I rummaged through my closet. I ended up wearing black leggings, and a hoodie that was way to big for me and my black lo pro vans. I went into the bathroom and quickly brushed my teeth, put a swipe of mascara on each eye than looked at my hair in the mirror. "Ew" I said to myself. Since it was now 6:40 and Ryan and Chaz (my two best friends) would be here to pick me up in 5 minutes I had no time to do anything with my hair so I threw up into a messy bun. I ran down stairs and kissed my mom on the cheek.

"Bye sweetheart. Oh and by the way I have some exiting news to tell you when you get home" she said smiling.

"Okay bye mom." I said curious as to what it could be.

I ran out to Ryan's car and jumped in the back seat.

"Hey Ave" they both synchronized using my nickname.

"Hey guys" I said.

"Ready for tonight?" Chaz asked.

"Tonight?" I asked.

"Dude! It's our first hockey game tonight." Ryan said like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"Oh right" I said.

"Yeah and than were gonna party all night long at Evans house" Chaz said.

"As in Chad Evans?" I asked excitedly. I've had crush in him since the beginning of the school year. He's like the most popular guy in the

11th grade.

"Yeah why, You gonna get some with Evans tonight Ave?" Chaz asked.

"Um no." I said slapping both of them on the back of the head as Ryan highfived Chaz.

We arrived at school and slowly exited Ryan's car not wanting to be here. They walked me over to my locker and as soon as we got there I started pulling out all the books I needed for the day.

"Oh we got some news for you Ava." Ryan said.

"Yeah but it might not be so good." Chaz said while Ryan gave him a 'what the hell man' look.

"Okay well what is it than?" I asked curious yet afraid of what it could be.

"We'll uh...um..Ju-"

"Justin's coming home tomorrow." Chaz said interrupting Ryan as if Justin coming home was not a big deal for me.

Ryan punched him on the arm. "What?" Chaz asked cluelessly. Ryan just shook his head.

"Oh." I said turning around to look at them showing no emotion on my face.

"Ava it's-"

"I gotta go. I don't wanna be late for class" I said interrupting Ryan. And with that I was off.

I lied. I wasn't going to class. Justin coming home was big news to me. And Chaz was right, it's not good. Me and Justin have been friends since diapers but the last time I saw it changed everything...
