Sun burning on my skin. Sweat running down my body. I know I must keep going, if I don't it will never end.

I keep thinking to myself just one more step and your done. Just a few more inches that's it.

And when I made it, I fell into the wet muddy grass breathing as if there was only a little bit of air left on the planet. The world was spinning all around me as if it was released from the sun's gravitational pull.

I heard the clashing of gravel as more and more people finished after me. They all seemed to be more tired then I was even know they did not try.

Our Coach yelled "Scarlet if you don't get off your a#@, you are going to have to run more." I rolled my eyes and lifted my soggy gym shorts off the wet ground.

My twin sister, Jane, walked over to comfort me. She was the older, taller, more creative twin. But, I was the smarter and better looking twin. We do not even look alike.

But, people still get us confused. And, her birthday is on January 1st at 12:02 and mine is technically on December 31 at 11:56." "What are you doing here Jane." I said as I gasps for air.

"I have to talk to Coach Linda. Coach Eleanor needs her." "Why" "I have no idea. Coach Linda!" I watched her as she walked towards the Coach.

The Coaches kept on telling us the first day of running was always the worst. I personally did not agree with the coaches. I thought they were all horrible. But, I had to get over it because this was going to be the rest of highschool.

I forgot I still needed to get to the main gym, so I ran in the gym even know it hurt me. That's where everyone goes when the day is over.

We usually just talk about how the day was or what events are coming up. Everybody sat down in a giant circle, talking as if we were a nest of birds waiting to be feed.

The Coaches walked in and everything went silent. Not a single peep came from anyone's mouth.

The Coaches keep rambling on and on about how bad we did and what we were going to do in class tomorrow. I was considering killing myself to make it stop.

When they, FINALLY, finished we broke out in the middle and went to the locker room to grab our thing. A stampede of people came charge at me, wanting to leave this torture chamber.

I was the only one walking back, except this other guy. He was just staring at me the whole way to his locker room.

Once he got to the boys locker room he stopped and watch me go into the girls. I tried to seem like I did not notice him, but it was impossible.

I rushed into the locker room and slammed the door behind me. I looked up and saw a bunch of girls rushing to grab their bags. "Can you move. Some people actually have places to be!" She said in a rude tune.

I was considering not getting up because she was acting like a B#TCH. I did not even see her. But, I just gave her a rude stare and got me lazy butt of the ground.

Then, the last bell rang I grabbed my stuff and tried to squeeze myself through the locker room door. Was this going to be how everyday was.

My mom came to pick *us up from our long day of school. I was so exhausted I did not even response when her car pulled up.

I am always embarrassed when my mom is around. She thinks I am still a little kid, but I am not I am in high school now.

I walked into the car, threw my stuff behind me, and watch all of the girls and boys rush to get in there cars and leave. In the corner of my eye I saw that guy again, the guy that was staring at me earlier.

All he did was stare at me nothing else just staring. He was creeping me out. But, he was cute. He was hanging around all the popular people. Is he apart of the popular club. And if he is, why was a popular guy staring at ME?!

My sister finally got into the car. She is always late. "What took you so long Jane. We actually need to leave before dark." Our mom said in a rude voice and an annoyed expression on her face.

"I was talking to some friends. They are having a party this weekend, can I go." "Of course you can." " Really" "NO!! You think I would let you go to another party. You went to one last weekend."

That is how it usually is in our family. Leaving the house for reasons other than school is a privilege. You never get to go every time.

And, if we did something we were not suppose to do, we are only allowed to leave the house to go to school for a whole month. It is torture.

The ride home was completely silent. No one was talking and all I could hear were the cars zooming past us and the radio playing the "latest and greatest" pop hits.

I walked out of the car and into the house as if all the life was drained out of me. My dad was not going to be home until 6 like usual.

When I got into the house, my giant dogs were there welcoming me home. One of them is a girl named stormy, she is a bull mastiff and she is afraid of storms, and the other is a boy named Toby who is a great Dane/blood hound. But Toby is epileptic and that means he has seizures. Everytime he has a seizure it messes up his brain which made him particularly blind and makes him walk weird sometimes. But he has not had one in a long time so that's great.

I immediately walked into the kitchen to grabbed the bread. But, there was none! I was freaking out inside because all I wanted was a sandwich (I am obsessed with SANDWICHES).

I tried to calm down and picked the next best opinion, a pickle. After I got my pickle I did not bother doing my homework because I don't care.

Honestly I can get an A without doing my homework for weeks. So, I just went outside walked to my favorite spot in my chair by the shore.

It was nice and peaceful as the waves crashed on the rocks and sand. My mind was being cleared of all the stress and tension of the day.

Then my sister comes out and starts flapping her lips, and it is all ruined. She was talking so fast I could not understand her. "Wait. Shut up. Slow down. Then talk. OK."

She was offended but just took a deep breath spoke. "I meet a really cute boy today. He was really funny." I looked at her and gave her an annoyed look. " I DON'T CARE! So, go away and leave me in peace."

"No, I want to tell you about him" I roll my eyes. " His name is Jake. He is really tall, has brown hair, strong, athletic, cute, and he is a junior."

She likes every descent looking guy in the 11th grade. Maybe it is because there two years older then her or she is just crazy.

But, I don't even know who this guy is, and honestly I don't really care. "Great for you" I am being sarcastic "know go away." "Fine Scarlet. (That's me)"

She walks away feeling like I did not care, which I didn't. She likes a boy then a week later another and another, but this time it feels different.

It seems like she likes this one a lot more. But, I dismalled the thought and relaxed on my chair. Feeling calm again.
