In our English class everyone was dressed up as things that go with their topic. I saw Imogen at the other end of the dimly lit class with two of our classmates. I guess she got to choose what group she wanted to join. I was quite upset that she didn't join our group.

She was in a group that is presenting depictions of life in the past, present and future. One of her partners - Tahlia - was wearing a white, old-timey dress that Imogen was quickly hemming. I guess she really was serious about fashion.

Her other partner - James - was wearing a kind of adapted astronaut suit. It looked well... more fashionable.

Finally, Imogen was wearing a kind of punk rock outfit, she died half of her hair blue and was wearing a sleeveless shirt that comes to just above her belly button. She had fake tattoo sleeves under that and a spiked choker around her neck. Her classic black glasses we're replaced by sunglasses that rest on top of her head, pulling her silky brunette waves away from her face. Her face was delicately made up with black eyeliner, mascara and lipstick with silver sparkles highlighting her eyelids. Looking closer I saw that she had shocking purple contacts over her usual grey eyes. She wore black skinny jeans and a grey flanalette shirt tied loosely around her waist. Covering her feet were black ankle boots that were bedazzled with shiny silver zips.

I walked over, manouvering through the people rehearsing their speeches.
"Andi Thompson! Hi!" Imogen said and hugged me, her arm lingering on my shoulder.
"What are you doing?" She asked, now tugging gently on her hair.
"Nothing much. Just waiting for Kellin to get here so we can practise our presentation... he better get here soon or I will kill him" I joked.
"Yeah, Haha" Imogen laughed "I love your outfit so much" she said looking up and down my dress, smiling.
"Yeah, Beca designed it. Its really loose though."
"Oh, I can tighten it for you, here, turn around." She said spinning me around, slowly pulling my lacing tighter and tucking it behind the satin ribbon tied around my waist.
"Is that better?" She asked, tracing the black stitching running up my dress.
"Yeah" I said "thank you".

"Well it looks like Kellin Davis and Beca fields are practicing without you. You better get over there" she said smiling. "See ya!" She waved.

"Well, Andi, You look amazing." Kellin teased.
"If you say that again, I will cut you. Anyway, you can't talk" I gestured to his outfit. He was wearing a really poofy, purple, snobby prince outfit complete with a crown and two-inch boots.

"What about you Beca?" Kellin said, trying to divert the conversation away from him. It worked just as well, now I noticed Beca. Her long, orange hair was clipped back into the most complicated array of braids, her dress was white and silver with little diamontes running along every edge of the sewing.

"Hey! Hey. Don't tease B, she is the only one who actually looks good, right?" I chimed in.
"Yeah. I guess so. Sorry Becs" Kellin apologized, giving her an awkward side hug due to her big dress.
"I feel so stupid" she muttered, lowering her eyes.
"You don't look stupid!" I started "you look gorgeous!" I said a bit too loud. I stood forward, forgetting about our dresses for a split-second and we both fell over, landing on the floor side by side.

"You think I look pretty?" She asked, confused "you look absolutely stunning Andi, you always do."

We kinda had some trouble getting up and Imogen noticed our struggling. She walked over, the heels of her boots making some noise every time they connected with the wooden floor, and extended two dainty hands. Her hands we're soft and each nail had a little white skull painted on black nailpolish.

"Thanks" Beca said "I don't think we've met, I'm -"
"Beca fields, I know. And you are Kellin Davis? Andi talks about you guys nonstop honestly, it actually gets a bit annoying right? Ha." She cut them off. "But in all seriousness, you guys sound amazing from what I've heard. I wish I had best friends like you. I only used to have my sister. Now nobody" her eyes lowered a bit and she stopped smiling.
Please don't say anything, please dont say anything I silently willed my friends to just be quiet.
"What happened to your sister?" Beca asked. I felt like face palming right then and there but the teacher came in saving me, and more so, Imogen from this conversation.

Over the next two hours of the double we watched about ten group presentations, including ours and Imogens.
"OK guys, great, we got through everyone. I just wanted to say, well done and you all look amazing.
"Thanks miss!" We called in unicen. We all loved our English teacher, she was a short, thin, young woman - no older than 25 - with amazing, long black hair that is dyed to switch to purple halfway down her straight locks.
