I looked outside to see snowflakes falling. The battle outside had seized fire and the wind blew gently through the quite silence. Everyone was now getting back to work, no one seemed to know what was going on. Ever since the men who were dressed in blue came to our school and asked us questions about a guy with pure white hair and amber eyes, saying he was apart of this school, I've had a bad feeling.
"Aiko, we'd better get going," my best friend, Tatara Suzuki, says as he came to stand by my side. I smiled and closed my eyes. There was a slight pain in my chest. Something was telling me that something was wrong. Ever since the murder of one of Homra's clansman, I've had a pain beating deeply in my heart. But right now, it's very painful, like I've been stabbed right through my heart.
"You can go first," I sigh. Tatara looked at me like I had lost my mind. "I have something to do first." Tatara did not question me. He just nodded and wished me luck and then walked away to class. I watched go. It just seemed like it was yesterday that I first met him. All blooded and messed up.
Tatara Suzuki, of course, was Tatara Totsuka, the supposedly murdered member of Homra. I had found him almost dead on the top of a roof. He hadn't wanted to die, so I just took his soul and then replanted it in another body, an artificial one at that.
After I replanted his soul into another body, Tatara Totsuka was no more. He had lost all of his past memories, though there were times when he seemed to remember bits. But remembering them always pained him, and so, I had to seal the away. Tatara Totsuka was gone and Tatara Suzuki was born.
After I watched Tatara disappear into the hallway with crowding students, I made my way out of the school and to the place where the battles had taken fourth. There was no sound. Just the quite wind blowing in the air. But there were some people there. The people in blue. They all looked tense and a bit shocked.
I went up to one of the blues. "Excuse me, what happened here?" I asked. The man I had spoken to looked down at me and narrowed his eyes. He didn't seem like he was going to tell me anything, but then again, it was too late, I had already cast a spell in his eyes and mind, to get him to tell me what he knew.
"The third King died," the man said. My eyes widened. The pain in my chest began to thump louder and louder. I swear anyone could hear it! My blood was boiling hot my my legs seemed to stiffen. "Hey, are you okay?" the man asked.
I looked up, a slight hesitation, but I managed to nod. "Y– yes, nothing wrong." I mumbled and started to walk away back to the school.
Tears were now starting to form in my eyes. The third King, the red King, had died. And it was all because of the Colorless King. That I knew. He had been the one to kill Tatara back then, and I had helped. Just a little though. I had saved Tatara's soul to make up the sin he had made, but now, now that the red King was dead, I guess my hard work had been for nothing.
But, there is still time. I stopped and looked up. The snow was still falling, but it wasn't cold at all. It was warm and sweet. I can still save him!
The pain in my chest started to lift. There was still sorrow in there still, but, I didn't care. Just as long as I corrected the sins of my King, then everything was going to be alright!
