Falling for Him (A Sebastian Stan Fanfic)

Acquaintances it is..

I woke up the next morning extremely refreshed. It felt good to get a full nights sleep. I went to brush my teeth but as soon as I got up I realized I was freezing! It was extremely cold in my apartment. I changed into my fuzzy pajamas then proceeded to brush my teeth. After I made my bed I could feel my stomach begin to growl. "Breakfast time it is!" I mumbled to my stomach before going into the kitchen.

No wonder I was so cold...I left the living room window open last night. Seeing as my apartment wasn't very large it was pretty easy for the cold air to reach every part of my apartment. The living room and kitchen are only separated by a wall, no doors, the only other rooms I had were a bedroom, closet, and bathroom. So it was safe to assume that besides the bathroom and my closet, it would take a while for my home to heat up.

I went to check my phone but found no new messages. I did, however, have a missed call and voicemail from Sebastian. I clicked play and put it on speaker as I started to make myself some pancakes.

"Hey Kate!....bshhhhh...sorry we didn't tell yo-bssssss...." *BEEP*

It was hard to make out what he was trying to say because it was extremely loud and windy wherever he was. Which is funny because I didn't hear any wind yesterday or last night...

I checked my schedule for work and saw that today was one of my free days. Even though working 12 hour days can be exhausting, it was worth it to have every other day off. I put on my bathing suit and then my favorite pair of shorts, and a light Star Trek hoodie over it before heading out.

I was such a Star Trek nerd, and I was beyond excited for when they would release the next one.

I clicked unlock on my coop, which is still damaged, and decided to go to the beach. I haven't been here long and I haven't visited the beach yet so now was as good as any. Although I may regret wearing only a long sleeve over my bathing suit.

Halfway to the beach I hear my phone buzz, but knowing that I'd rather not die right now I wait until I get to the beach to answer it.

Once I got out of my car I read the message, it was from Sebastian.

"Ah you speak Romanian now, trying to be like your favorite actor huh? ;)
I'm sorry we didn't tell you sooner but me and Chris got called to do a press conference in New York, I'll call later to explain."

I must have been staring at my phone for five minutes before I decided to put it away for good and take a walk on the beach. Looks like I should have made more friends, preferably ones that don't travel.

As I was walking down the beach I couldn't help but admire the view. Listening to the ocean was almost as peaceful and watching it. What I saw next was the opposite of peaceful.

Coming towards me was Henry. The guy I painted yesterday who kissed my hand Henry. Before I could let myself get negative I remembered I could use a friend. So I smiled and waved at him.

"Hey Kate!"

He was panting a little from the jog he took to get over to me, he smiled before catching his breath.

"I thought I recognized you! You don't have to work today?"

I smiled back before answering.

"No I work mainly every other, how come you're not modeling today?"

"They really liked my shots from yesterday and told me they didn't need any more. I'm just waiting on call incase they need me."

As he was talking I realized I never stopped to notice his appearance yesterday. Which sounds funny seeing as I painted him half naked, but I really didn't. He had dirty blonde hair with dark blue eyes and was in pretty good shape. His teeth were white and in line perfectly too.

"So what brought you to the beach?"

I hadn't even realized I zoned out until he stopped talking.

"Huh?" Was the best I could manage without trying to humiliate myself.

Henry laughed before talking again.

"I asked what brought you to the beach today, I came to see if the waves were good for riding."

"Oh I just wanted to get outside, I hadn't been to the beach since I got here so I figured why not. Do you surf?"

"Yea but only when the conditions are good, no use surfing if all you're going to do is fall. Did you say this was your first time at the beach?"

"Well since I just got here ye-"
He cut me off and his jaw dropped.

"Wait you just got here? You should see the sights! Fancy a tour?"

There's the Henry I was waiting for. But seeing as I had nothing better to do, I said
"Sure! Can we walk?"

I still didn't know Henry that well, and getting into his car would not be the smartest move.

You got into Chris's car.

I could hear my brain criticizing me for having double standards. But they're famous, they just seem easier to trust.

Sure, keep telling yourself that.

"Yeah, the first spot shouldn't take too long, it's right down the road."

And with that, we set off..

It was around four when I got back to my Coop.
"Thanks for the tour Henry, see you at work?"

"Yea, no problem! See ya Kate."

"Bye!"

"Wait Kate!"

He started to walk back towards me, he began to scratch the back of his neck as well.

"What's your number? Incase you ever need a friend."

His face looked so caring and sincere, and after the great day I had, I was more than welcome to give him my number. Because I could always use a friend.

After we exchanged numbers I went home. I changed into my lounge clothes and unpacked my pockets. I had more than enough pamphlets from all of the places we went to. It was then that I realized I had turned my phone on silent. I checked it to see I had a few text messages.

"Hey Kate, are you free? I'd like to explain why we had to leave. -Seb"

"If I got the time zones right I'm assuming you should be awake. Call when you get this."

They were both from Sebastian. I plopped down on the couch and decided to call him back. Although I was not expecting what I heard.

"Hello?" Followed by high pitched giggling. It was a girl. A squeaky voiced one at that. I'm not sure why but it bothered me. A lot. I hung up fast and threw my phone into the cushions.

"He's just a friend. Maybe I'm attracted to him because he's famous? Or maybe because he plays Bucky and you've always like Bucky. No need to be upset. It was probably a friend, don't worry!"

I kept repeating this to myself until I remembered I had Chris's number too. I could call him, see how New York is.

Before I could dial his number I decided against it, they're probably having a good time with their friends, don't be weird.

Maybe I should go out and have a good time with mine. Instead of calling Chris I decided to call Henry. It rang for a second before he answered.

"Hello?"

"Hey Henry its Kate, you maybe wanna show another nice place to go?"

"I think there's actually a carnival going on. That good?"

I couldn't help the smile on my face.

"It's great!"

1305 words to this chapter! I'm going to try and make this a long chaptered book, so there will be a lot to read! That said Sebastian will be in it more as it progresses! Enjoy!
