Lacy's POV:

"So let me get this straight," Alex's voice ran through the phone as she held it up between her shoulder and cheek. "You called him out on something, and he hit you?"

"Yes, I literally just said that."

"That son of a bîtçh." He paced on the other side of the phone.

"It's fine." I said not believing my words.

"Lacy that shît is not fine. He's only mad because he knows that you're right and his dumbäss doesn't want to believe it."

I sigh not bothering to calm him down, "Well it's over and done with now."

"Well maybe this means you can finally get over his sorry-" Before he could finish, I interrupt him.

"Ok I get it. And maybe this is a sign that we shouldn't be together." I tell him trying not to give off the fact that I'm upset at the thought.

"Good. Now pack your shit, I'm coming to get you."

"What why?"

"Because we are gonna have a sleepover."

"Why?" I ask making him groan.

He sighs, "You need to get away from that house for awhile, from him."

"Yeah," I nod even if he can't see me. "You're right."

"Alrighty then, I'll be on my way. See you soon."

"Ok, bye."

I hang up the phone sighing, looking around the room for my purple bag.

I find it sitting in the corner of my room near my closet. I grab it opening it and my closet and filling it up with a few days worth of clothes. I also grab my laptop, my flat irons, toothbrush of course, some shampoo and conditioner, my favorite body wash, and my phone charger.

Isn't that a little to much, you're not moving out.

"Nah." I say to myself shaking my head.

I finish putting everything in the bag, grabbing it and heading downstairs.

"Hey sweetie,what's in the bag?"

My mom nods towards the bag in my right hand, "Clothes. I'm gonna sleep over Alex's house for a few days."

"Oh ok, sounds fun. You and Alex haven't had a sleepover in awhile." She laughs.

"Mom we are not five anymore, it's not a sleepover."

"Oh Lacey I meant to ask you something earlier."

"What is it?"

"Do you know what's going on with you're brother?" I freeze on the spot, not really sure what to say.

"Uh n-no, why do you ask?" I ask now.

"Well when I got home from work he seemed a bit upset."

"Like sad or mad?"

"A little bit of both actually. It seemed like he'd been crying." She says looking at me waiting for some type of explanation.

"Oh I don't know mom, you would have to ask him yourself." She looks at me as if she knows I'm lying but doesn't anything on it.

"Ok. By the way, I wasn't supposed to tell you this but oh well, your dad called and he should be back from his business trip in a few days." My mom said smiling making me smile.

"Great maybe he'll be home before I come home. I'll just pretend I didn't know." I say winking to my mom making her laugh.

Just then, I heard a car horn beep from outside (obviously). I grab my bag and head out the door, saying a farewell to my mother.
