My alarm goes off. I slap it lazily and glance at the time. 5:30 am.
I get dressed and drag myself into the bathroom to brush my teeth and hair. The sky outside is a light blushed pink. The sun is just rising.
I do makeup and head downstairs. My parents are probably still sleeping, and maybe they'll be awake by the time I get back, maybe I'll get yelled at and slapped, but it will be worth it. I have to say goodbye to Mabel.
I wonder what it feels like to be her right now. Waking up to an empty room. Going into eighth grade without any friends besides her twin brother. Leaving Gravity Falls, the only place she fits in. I've never left Gravity Falls. Maybe I belong here, like she does.
I begin to think of myself entering eighth grade. I don't really have any friends, so I? Maybe those two girls I used to boss around constantly. But they hate me. They always have. Do I hate them? Everyone's going to hate me when I walk through those doors. Everybody knows me as the bitchy, rich, blonde girl. I hate to be known as that.
I continue out of the mansion and down the hill. The warm summer air is to be cherished this time of year - there's not much of it left until next summer. A lot of things should be cherished. You never know when they'll be no more.
And how is our relationship going to go? We don't have phones.
And poor Dipper, who has never made any friends either. He belongs here too. He loves the paranormal and the mystery.
We've only ever made friends with each other. No one else. They'll be together, without me.
The bus stop is around the corner. I turn. There they all are - Soos, Wendy, Stan, Dipper, and Mabel.
Mabel catches me out of the corner of her eye."Pacifica!" she exclaims, and we run towards each other.
  We hug.
"I don't want you to leave," I whisper in her ear.
"I don't want to leave," she says softly,"but I have to."
She looks into my eyes and I gaze into hers. Suddenly, she kisses me. It's long and loving and I wish it could last forever. She pulls away.
  "I love you, Pacifica."
  "I love you too, Mabel."
  The bus pulls up.
"Last bus leaving Gravity Falls," the bus driver announces.
  "Bye, Pacifica," Dipper waves.
  "Bye," I reply.
  Mabel squeezes my hand."Goodbye."
  "Goodbye."
Her hand slowly leaves mine, and soon only our fingertips touch. Her warmth disappears, and even the summer morning heat won't help this cold emptiness inside of me.
It's just us against the future, Dipper and Mabel. Just us three vs the world.
Mabel and Dipper step into the bus and the doors close. They wave through the window to everyone with smiles on their faces, as if everything is fine, but deep down, all three of us know that it's not.
