Isaac was tired of being a victim, plain and simple. He was tired of being pushed around, at school and at home. The day he meet Derek changed everything for him. 'A Gift' Derek called it, he said it was gift to be bitten. Isaac didn't see any evidence of this life being 'a gift'. All Isaac knew was pain and heartache. He accepted Derek's gift in order to get away from his fathers abuse, both physically and verbally.
He accepted because he knew he couldn't spend one more night locked in that freezer with nothing but darkness and the voices in his head telling him he was worthless, he was nothing, he was the reason his mother was dead.
At this point he didn't know if that was what he really thought or if his dad had told him that so many times he just forced himself to believe it. At first everything seemed better, everything was wonderful. He could see, smell, hear, and move better; it was great. Then the other shoe had to drop. He got into a rather rough fight with his dad words were yelled, things were thrown, and he got hit in the face by glass.
Isaac had finally had enough he couldn't take it. He ran out of the house as quick as possible racing to find Derek to see if he could stay with him for the night. Derek was reluctant at first, but eventually he caved and let Isaac stay with him for the night.
The next morning it was time for school. Early morning lacrosse practice. It seemed like a normal day to Isaac despite the fact that he slept at Derek's the night before. While they were at practice the police showed up to inform Isaac that his father was dead, and he was a suspect in his murder.
Murder? His dad was dead. What was he going to do? Where would he go? He was only seventeen! As Isaac rode in the back of the cop car he thought to himself how could he prove where he was Derek wasn't the most credible alibi, I mean the guy was also questioned in a murder. The cops will probably think we killed him together.
Isaac couldn't bring Derek into this too, not with him already having so much to do with Erica and Boyd and the full moon tonight. Oh God, the full moon was tonight. Isaac doesn't know how he is going to control himself, he just hopes they lock him up good and tight.
Most of what happened that night after he was questioned is a blurr, he vaguely remebers trying to attack Stiles and Derek thankfully stopping him, but after that he can't think of anything else.
On the next full moon Isaac is more prepared and in control of himself Derek told Isaac to find an anchor, an anchor to help ground him to bring him back from the verge of shifting... Isaac thinks that his anchor may be his friendship with Scott. They have gotten remarkably close over this short period of time.
Scott is a truly great friend, he never wants to do anything harmful to anyone, always trying to help when possible. Lately things have been more tense around the Hale household where Isaac has been staying it was already tense with Peter there, but Erica and Boyd leaving just seemed to turn everything into utter chaos.
One particularly rough, rainy night when Derek, Peter and Isaac were all fighting Derek decided it was the perfect night to kick everyone out. So Isaac packed his few belongings and set out on foot, walking around aimlessly with absolutely no where to go he somehow found himself standing outside of Scott's house.
Raising his hand tentatively to knock on the door he waited patiently till Mrs. McCall opened the door smiling. "Hello, Isaac? You're Scott's friend right? Come in your soaking wet. Let me go get you a towel."
Isaac stood awkwardly waiting for Mrs. McCall to return with the towel. "You can go on upstairs, its the first door on the right. Just walk on in." She said with a smile.
Isaac made his way up the stairs walking hesitantly into Scotts room. "Um... Hi, Scott. Um. I was wondering if I could ask you for a favor?"
"Sure Isaac what is it?" Scott said with a raised eyebrow.
"Well, um.... I was kinda wondering if maybe I could stay here for a few nights?"
"Yeah sure, how long do you want to stay?" Scott said with a smile gracing his lopsided face.
"Are you sure? Don't you need to ask your mom first?"
"Mom." Scott yelled.
"What Scott?" She yelled back.
"Can Isaac stay with us for a few days?" Scott asked staring into Isaac's crystal blue eyes.
"Sure, honey, that's fine." She replied.
"Great now that that's settled what did Derek do this time?" Scott asked.
"Oh, um. Derek didn't really do anything, it was just a petty argument. It was my fault really, I should have just left it alone then I wouldn't have had to bother you." Isaac said voice almost trembling.
"Trust me Isaac, you are not a bother. I think it's going to be great having you here." Scott said smiling brightly eyes crinkling at the corners showing he was truly happy about Isaac staying with him.
After a few minutes of Scott staring at him Isaac got the courage to ask, "Well, Scott I don't mean to be a bother, but I'm freezing over here mind if I go take a shower?"
"Yeah, yeah of course go take a shower. I'll go fix the guest room up for you." Scott said winking as he walked by.
So while Isaac was taking a shower Scott fixed the guest room just perfect for Isaac because Isaac himself was perfect and he deserved everything Scott had to give and he fully intended to show him while he was here. 'Operation Get Isaac Lahey To Fall In Love With Scott McCall' was now in action.
