History turned out to be more eventful than Percy thought it would. He ended up sitting next to one of the most obnoxious girls he had ever met. The minute he sat down at the desk beside to her, he knew he had made a mistake.

"Hi. My name is Rachel Berry. I'm assuming you're new since I've never seen you before. What's your name? How was your first day here at McKinley High?" She said, somehow able to speak so fast that Percy had a hard time keeping up with her.

"Percy, and it was fine." He said rather shortly. He had hoped that his simple response would stop the girl from interrogating him further, but he had been wrong.

"It is very nice to meet you Percy. What do you like to do in your spare time? Do you play any sports? Do you sing?" She said again all in one breath. Percy found himself leaning away from her slightly.

"No. I don't sing. I love to swim though." He responded again, slightly against his own will. He didn't understand why he continued to answer her many questions as it was obviously just egging her on to ask more. It was then that he remembered Puck's comment about a girl named Rachel and how she would eat him alive if she found out that he was from the city. He hadn't even mentioned where he was from and she was already tearing into him like a wild animal.

She opened her mouth, as if she was about to speak again, but stopped, much to Percy's relief, as the teacher walked in and demanded everyone's attention.

Schuster started off the class just like all of the other teachers with the class syllabus. Percy kind of zoned out after that. He was grateful that Rachel didn't try to speak to him again during the lesson and when the bell rang, Percy was one of the first people out the door to avoid her. He managed to get away pretty easily. When he was sure that she wasn't behind him, Percy headed over to his locker to put away his books and binders for the day.

He had to admit he was a little disappointed when he didn't see Puck, but then he decided that he should be done with the day. He had somehow managed to go the entire day without causing any trouble. He was astounded that he couldn't say a single bad thing about it. Not monsters, not anything had ruined his time at McKinley High and he wasn't about to let it.

Percy walked towards the parking lot and joined Quinn at her car. Together, the two headed home.

***

There we go! I didn't want anything bad to happen on the first day. I feel like something always ruins his first day of school and I wanted his time at McKinley to be different.
