Saturday, June 11th, 8:45am

Jai woke up with a banger of a headache. The second his eyes opened, he wished he could stay exactly where he was for the rest of his life, but the chances of that were in the negatives. A stream of sunlight was directly hitting his eyes, meaning he had two options: either roll over or go blind. He groaned as he decided to shift his body to the center of his bed, out of the sunlight's harmful way. Every part of him ached and protested as he did so.

Jai scrubbed a hand over his face before glancing over at his alarm clock.

"Only 8:45," he almost cried to himself. He was exhausted, hung over and wanting to sleep until it was Monday.

"So, Jai, feel like partying?" Beau's voice rang through his head over and over again for the second time in his life.

"Should've said no," he continued grumbling to himself. "Fuck me," he groaned as he sat up.

The sad, sad side effects of living alone in your twenties.

He sat for a moment and picked his brain for any coherent thoughts. Although he could only remember forty-percent of the night, something told him staying at the boys' house for the party was the best decision he'd ever made. Now he just had to deal with the wicked 'day-after' effects.

His phone buzzed loudly against the wooden surface of his bedside table, where he noticed there was a glass of water and two Tylenol laid out. Both his phone, the water and pills were laid neatly on top of a handwritten note. He popped the ibuprofen in his mouth and swallowed with the entire glass of water as he glanced down at the note.

Hope you're not super confused when you see this, let me know if you need anything!

—Ava

Ava? Jai thought to himself, concerned by his lack of memory. He couldn't remember seeing his next-door neighbor at any point last night. His phone buzzed once more, distracting himself from the mystery at hand.

He couldn't help but laugh as he and Luke conversed for a moment.

Jai started to feel a lot less gross as the forced glass of water settled into his system

Jai started to feel a lot less gross as the forced glass of water settled into his system. After a few more minutes of wallowing in his own body-pity, he hopped into the shower and felt even better as the sweat and alcoholic smells washed off of his body. As he was changing, he thought he heard a knock on the door at the front of his house. He paused and waited in the silence, but then proceeded to change after hearing nothing.

He heard another knock, however, as he yanked a pair of skinny jeans up his legs. He walked out to the front door and opened it to see a smiling Ava.

"Hi," she smiled. Jai was now more confused than he was before, when he first read the note. "How are you?"

"I'm alright—"

"I brought you fresh juice and bread from the farmer's market," she held up a plastic bag filled with groceries. "Figured you might want to eat something good, lord knows how crappy you're feeling right now," she kept rambling, only confusing Jai more with every word that left her mouth.
