That morning went by in a blur. I was now standing on my circle, waiting for the sound of the gong. Bong. That was my cue. Before I knew it I was running. It's like my body started working without my brain. I quickly picked up two book bags before anyone could catch me and ran for my life. I'm so glad I was quick. I don't know how I managed to pick up two packs.
I walked and walked and walked before I found and area, finally I saw something that looked safe. I heard at least eleven cannons, which means there were fifteen of us left. Then I start digging a hole. I plan on hiding underground.
It would take me a while, but it would be worth it. I would have to make an easy opening that someone could walk over though. After I create something that looked satisfactory, I go under and look to see what were in my packs.
The packs were a fluorescent orange. I made a face at this. I was going to have to cover it in mud and leaves. I opened one and it had a black sleeping bag that reflects heat, a pack of dried beef, a box of matches, a pair of night vision glasses, an empty plastic water bottle, a pack of crackers, a bottle of iodine, some bread, and a coil of wire. Couldn't they have at least given us some water?!
I opened my next pack and it had water, thankfully. More dried beef, some more bread, a pouch of knives, and some dried fruit. I would be good for food for a while. I'm glad I didn't go to the cornucopia; it would've been a bloodbath. It was starting to get dark, and I was tired, so I decided to go to sleep. I was safe. I would worry about everything else tomorrow.
When I opened my eyes it was barely dawn. I picked up my bags, filled the hole, and started off. I checked my surroundings; I was looking for anyone who'd be an obvious kill. I missed the seal of the Capitol, so I don't know exactly who, and how many people died. I didn't notice anyone yet.
I eventually end up at the lake. I see a look out. It was a girl from District 2. She tried to warn the others, but I quickly grabbed a knife from inside a hole I made in my pants and threw it at her. It landed near her heart. She screamed. This ruined everything. I had to either run, or kill. I didn't think I could kill all of them, so I ran. Someone tried to get me, but I threw a knife and it went straight through his heart. He was dead instantly. I heard the cannon go off.
This would give me time to run. They needed to pick up his body, so everyone had to clear out. Then I heard another cannon. It was the girl's. At least I killed two tributes.
I had been walking for a while and found another place that looked like it would be good for shelter. I figured I wouldn't have enough time to dig a hole, so I climbed into a tree. I'm guessing that there were thirteen of us left, and thirteen of us who had gotten killed. I'm astounded. Half of the tributes dead in less than two days.
I decided to hydrate myself. I would do no good if I died from thirst. I was a little hungry so I ate two strips of dried beef, and a slice of bread. This had to last me the whole time. I didn't know how to hunt. It was illegal to go out in the woods. Everything seemed safe and secure, so I decided to take a nap. I got it to my sleeping bag, and closed my eyes.
I didn't know how long I was asleep, but I was awakened when I smelled smoke. The tree was on fire! There was fire almost everywhere I looked. I packed my stuff quickly, and tried to escape. Somehow I hopped to another tree. I started to run. I was running the way I came! The Gamemakers were trying to get a close together. They obviously enjoyed seeing bloodbaths.
