*Two years earlier...*
"Dad, I'm going over to Izzy's house for the night! I'll see ya tomorrow, love you!" I yelled over my shoulder as I ran out the front door.
Izzy's my BFF, we've known each other sense I was 5, and I've been over to her house so many times, so I don't even bother to tell her when I'm coming over anymore, and its the same for her when she comes over to my house. Yah we're pretty close. Me and Izzy are always together, in fact people say that we were born sisters and separated at birth. We always just laugh at them, but we are almost never apart for more then 24hrs, and when we aren't together in person then we're texting, so we decided that from now on when people ask us if we're sisters, we're just gonna say that we are!
That's why it was so weird when Izzy didn't text me back this morning, and we haven't talked sense. That's why I decided to got over to her house for the night, to make sure everything was okay, and that she wasn't mad at me for something.
Izzy only lived a few blocks away from my house so I decided to walk this time. Bad idea, but how was I to know what was going to unfold over the next few hours...
---------------------------------------------
So I was walking and jamming out to "payphone" by "Maroon 5" when I see a van pull out of an abandoned parking garage, a few minutes away from Izzy's house. "Hmm, that's weird..." I mumbled to myself and shook my head to try to rid my brain of all the scary things I had just thought of. I've read way too many scary books...
I decided to jog the rest of the way to Izzy's house, one to get there faster and two to get away from the creepy van that now seemed to be following me.
I was a only a few yards from Izzy's house when I heard the van speed up behind me. I quickly sprinted up Izzy's driveway and was almost at the front door when I heard the scream, and then a sound air of every scary move...
A gunshot!
---------------------------------------------
I wasted no time in opening the door, and I forgot about the van. (That's a mistake that will haunt me forever...) I was more interested in finding out what made Izzy scream!
When I got inside I looked around and gasped. Their laying in a huge pool of blood was Izzy's dad, Todd.
I ran over to him and saw that he had been shot in the heart. He was still alive, but just barely.
"Mr. Todd!" I said while crying.
"Sav-v-anna, you have to ge-e-t away from he-e-re!" He managed to say between labored breaths
"Where's Izzy? And Mrs. Misty?" I said still crying
"The-e-re... The-e-e-re..." Was all he managed before taking one last labored breath
I was just about to start sobbing when I heard a spine tingling scream coming from the basement
"AHHHHHHH-"
The scream was cut short by yet another gunshot, but this time it wasn't Izzy's scream... It was Misty's!
---------------------------------------------
I sprinted down the stairs as fast as I could, but managed to stop myself three stairs from the bottom. Finally getting smart I pulled out my cell phone to call 9-1-1
"Shoot!" I whisper-yelled as the word "LOW BATTERY" flashed across the screen
"How could you die on me now!!!" I quietly yelled, but I guess I wasn't quiet enough because the next thing I knew there were footsteps running to the stairs.
I gasped, and turned to run up the stairs, but I wasn't fast enough "BAM!" I'm tackled football-style while trying to run up the stairs.
I hit my head on the rail and I saw spots. And before I could even think about what just happened, I was thrown over the shoulder of whoever tackled me, and carried back down the stairs.
I heard Izzy gasp over the sound of me trying to escape from whoever it was who was holding me, before I was roughy thrown onto the floor. Ow!
I quickly took in my surroundings, gasping at what I saw...
In the middle of the the room was Misty's lifeless body.
Their was blood everywhere and the sight of it made me sick, but the smell was way worse. The air was rank with the smell of it...
---------------------------------------------
I quickly looked away and saw Izzy tied to a chair with a terrified look on her face. And I figured she was in shock because she wasn't crying, and she had a far away look in her eyes. But who could blame her! She had just witnessed both of her parents brutally murdered by a maniac with a gun.
"Well, well, well. What have we got here."
I was quickly brought out of my thoughts by those words. I looked up at who was talking and gasped...
