"Hurry up George!" shouted a very stressed and flustered Peter Harrison while standing on the bottom step of the stairs, he waited for a reply and after not getting one he turned back to resume the conversation with his mother.
George rushed around his room, trying to find the random packs of film that were scattered around the place and put them into his camera case. He looked at his watch, they were running late, not awfully late, but late enough make Pete start stressing out. After finally confident that he had everything he needed he looked around his room again just to make sure he hadn't forgotten anything, especially the single of She Loves You. He was aware that his sister, Louise, had perviously been sent a copy of From Me To You by their mother and she had took it to the local radio station and it was played on the radio that summer, hopeful to get the Beatles another slot of air time again on American radio he thought he'd take a single personally, and also to thank the radio DJ for the past air time.
"George, c'mon. I've packed my bags in the car!" George could heard the agitation in his brothers voice and thought that he had left him waiting long enough.
"Coming, coming, coming!" He shouted back while trying to remover his bags through the hallway and down the stairs.
"Ah, finally," Peter voiced sarcastically as he opened the front door and took Georges bags out to pack into the car.
George turned to face his mother who smiled and shook her head at her youngest boy who had grown into a handsome young man,
"What?" George smiled back with a small laugh.
"What took you so long, eh? Make sure you don't wind up your brother too much, you're grown adults now." said the small, grey haired, middle aged woman as she handed George his leather over coat and a green sandwich box, "for the journey."
"I was getting my film. And I promise, best behaviour from me at all costs." George smiled at his mother.
"Right, I'd better be off now mum." He gave her a kiss on the cheek and hugged her tightly. "Cheers for the sandwiches too."
"Don't forget to give my love to Louise, Gordon and little Gordon for me!" shouted George's mother as George walked towards the front gate.
"I won't, don't worry. I'll send you a post card too!" George shouted back as he waved and shut the garden gate.
"Come on, lets go, lets go." George said to his brother as he got into the passenger side of the car.
Pete started up the car and drove off honking to his mother as they drove past the house, "what took you so long anyway, might not catch our plane now!"
George chuckled at his brothers over exaggeration, "I was getting my film for my camera, and then mum wanted to say goodbye and gave me these," he said as he waved the green plastic sandwich box in the air, "for the journey she said."
Pete looked at the green box and back to the road, "Does she not think planes give food?"
"I dunno, maybe she meant for the car journey," George said while while looking at the box and shrugging his shoulders, "we're only driving to Manchester." said Pete while laughing slightly.
"Aw c'mon Pete, she means well." George replied while trying to tune the car radio.
The pair had to quickly check in their luggage and run to the departure lounge as they were calling the last passengers to board the flight to Chicago, out of breath they handed over their boarding passes and made their way to their seats. Finally seated they got comfortable, they prepared for take off for the 8 hour flight that was ahead of them.
