I love the taste of Ice-cream on a hot, summers day. The way it's vanilla flavour tingles my senses; how the sugar rush energises me; the way it feels dripping down my face.
Well, maybe, if I was bathing in it.
Today is not that day.
I gasp in horror down at my sandalled feet as the ice-cream makes it's way from my chin to my shirt, down the side of my leg, and all the way to the ground. It happens in slow motion, yet so fast I don't even have time to blink.
Slowly, I shift my narrowed gaze upon the she-devil of ice-cream and joy, Lucy.
"Hey, don't look at me," she raises her hands in surrender, "You're the one who just stared and let it ruin your outfit."
Yet who was the one to initially "bump" into me? "Accidentally" tripping and pushing their ice-cream onto my face?
I narrow my gaze some more, probably looking like I've closed my eyes. But it doesn't matter; all I need to see is the red anger spots blurring my vision. Someone must pay.
I shift my gaze back down on the sad and slowly growing pile of milky goodness. I can hear it calling to me. Or maybe that's just the heat and dehydration finally kicking in.
"Avenge me!" It says, shaking it's little, wimpy fist up at me.
"I will," I mutter to it, eyes closed, willing the anger to subside.
"Lucy!" I shoot a 150 watts smile brightly at little miss clumsy over there. "I'm glad to see you, I've been meaning to give you something from a friend." Even bigger smile.
Relief clouds Lucy's face, a slight smile making her slighlty sunburnt face look even cuter, if it were possible.
Even more reason to follow through with the ice-cream revenge plan.
"Look, I'm really sorry. I'm such a klutz these days, being so busy with College and all, I tend to get lost in thought." She pushes her designer glasses up her nose slightly, emphasising the fact that she can afford the brand new, Paris Hilton brands.
I suddenly feel very plain in my Target t-shirt and College cap.
The reasons to go ahead with the "Splatter and Ice-scream" plan are just building.
It has a name and everything now.
"So," Lucy adjusts her designer bag, "You have something for me? I hope it's from Hannah, I haven't seen her since school ended and she owes me big still. You know, I'm the whole reason she and Jason ever worked out- AGGGHH!"
A smirk shamelessly creeps onto my face as I remove my cone from her shirt, Princess Diaries style.
"Nope, sorry, just a gift from me and my lunch."
I saunter away to the blissful sound of rapid gasps and stuttering.
Now, about that ice-cream bath.
