It wasn't supposed to be like this. It wasn't supposed to end like this.
The guy would make up his mind to migrate to another country, and the girl would run after him to the airport, or vise versa. And just when all hope seems lost, he would appear behind her and say something that would make her heart leap in joy and relief.
That's what's supposed to go in stories and novels.
