The first thing I noticed about Scar was that she was tiny.
As she ran up to us from the warehouse, I couldn't help but notice her fragile physique. She stood at about 5-foot 1 and she dressed in an grey oversized knitted sweater that almost swallowed her up and some plain black leggings that clung to her tiny legs.
The second thing I noticed was that she was absolutely breath-taking.
She had long, white blonde hair styled into delicate waves and her large cerulean eyes held a gleam of serenity, telling me that she was someone I was going to love being around.
"Dan! You missed it! Kris challenged Levi to a FIFA game and-"
She stopped mid-sentence as she finally realised that Dan wasn't alone. Her big blue eyes eyed me with caution and bewilderment. She tilted her head in an act of confusion before glancing between us. Dan chuckled beside me and walked towards her.
"Hello to you too." He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her in for a strong hug causing her to beam up at him.
Are those two...
"Scar, this is Amery. She's going to be living with us from now on. Amery, this is Scarlett Chase-"
"But you can call me Scar! Oh, honey you are the cutest thing!" She ran over to me excitedly and pulled me into a bone-crushing hug.
"Howdy!" She says when she finally released me and I can hear the faintest southern twang in her voice when she says that.
"Oh, you're so gorgeous, isn't she gorgeous Dan?" He laughed at her antics, then nodded his head.
"She sure is-"
"We finally have another girl in the house! They never let me watch Gossip Girl, but I bet they might if we both convince them!"
I was a little taken aback to say the least.
I nodded silently at her, not quite knowing what to say but Dan sensed my doubt and came to the rescue.
"Scar, I have to take her to meet Levi right now. You guys will have the chance to meet again later on." He gently motioned his head towards the large warehouse behind Scar.
"Oh right, sorry. I'll catch you later then..." As she blushed at her words, I couldn't help but smile at how sweet and welcoming she was towards me.
I shuffled carelessly to where Dan seemed to be leading me, which was inside the abandoned warehouse. He led me round the back of the old building, where there was an open door. Ushering me inside, he followed me into the place they called home.
"Yo Levi! Where you at?"
I faltered the moment I stepped inside. The outside of the place seemed as though it would fall apart at any given moment. The paint on the walls was fading and parts of the roof had caved in.
But the inside was a completely different story. My eyes darted around the room I was now in which seemed to be the kitchen. It was obvious that the inside of the building had been refurbished.
There was a gleaming island in the middle of the room and the walls were covered in small, clean black tiles. All the equipment seemed brand new, from the coffee machine to the microwave and I had a feeling the rest of the warehouse would be the same.
A muffled response came from the direction of the stairs.
"Guess he must be in his office. Let's go on up." He headed towards the steps and I struggled to catch up with him. I tried to memorise the route we were going in as he led me down a dimly-lit corridor.
