I was alive
So was he
My prince

I could tell
The look on his face
Showed he was enjoying this just as much as I did

But nights don't last forever
And neither does high school love

Once we got a house
A kid
Issues
He changed

He wasn't alive anymore
And I didn't want to be

He always came home angry
No matter what

Through dinner he would stare forward
Ignoring our son
Ignoring me

One day I dropped a plate
I think it was from our wedding
My son screamed and ran upstairs
He got angry

That was only the first time

Now I'm writing this one last note telling my son

Please don't be like me

Make sure you're always alive

Make sure all you do

Is
