“Cas! Cas! Hang on, please!” Tears were pooling at the edges of Dean's eyes as the held the limp body of his friend, making sure not to touch the bloody gashes on his back. It looked as if his wings had been forcibly removed by the raggedness of the gashes, and they seemed to go all the way to the bone. Dean didn't know why his Castiel was tossed from heaven, but one thing was certain, there won't be anymore flying.

He brushed a hand over Cas's cheekbone, now realizing his crush, why all of the girls in crop-tops and mini-skirts never seemed appealing to him. Dean had his angel waiting for him. He studied every aspect of Castiel's face as a searing doubt arose from inside him. He was never a math-geek like

Sammy, but he knew what the odds were of Castiel surviving. “Come on! You can't just give up now! We, I, need you.”

A tear slipped down his cheek, feeling it make it's slow path to his shirt. “Castiel...” He said in despair, looking back at Sammy, a spark of hope appearing in his eyes. Sam looked to the ground and looked up with wide eyes. He pointed to Castiel's body with a growing smile. Dean turned back to the body as his brilliant lightning-blue eyes fluttered open “D-Dean...?”

Dean watched with astonishment as he wrapped Castiel in a hug, forgetting about his back in the joy which he felt at the moment. Cas stiffened and groaned in agony before Dean quickly pulled away. “I am so sorry”

Sam looked at the pair with true surprise. Dean said sorry? What kind of magic was the fallen-angel working on his brother? Castiel looked up at Dean with his look of curiosity which so often visits his face. “What are you doing here?”

“We saw you fall” Sam spoke up “Dean had suspected it was an angel- we just...”

Cas sighed “Didn't know which angel it was.” He sat up slowly with a wince. “You shouldn't be here.”

"Yes, we shouldn't be in a lot of places, and yet, here we are" Dean said, slightly stung by the remark, but the mask of his face refused to betray his emotions. "You need to get that looked at" he said, gesturing toward where his wings used to be.

"Dean, the last time I was in a human hospital..." He stopped, trying to search for a word to describe what he was trying to get across to the brothers.

"Fine, I''ll do your stitches, then take you to a hospital to get them looked at."

Castiel bit his lip, trying to come up with a suitable argument before sighing "Fine."

I know it's short, but I'm planning to write more of these than usual, so...
