The day that it all happened

Chapter 1

This is my first story so don't judge ;)

:Chapter one:

~ max's P.O.V~

It all began on a day normal as can be, like today.

Oh yeah and my names max by the way!

We all are sitting at the corner store just waiting

for something interesting to happen, when it all went down.

Jackson (my best friend) was sitting

next to me stroking my hair.

The earth began to shake but the was normal for California, but not

this time.

We all lived and a small town called Hamilton. Hamilton was a small town we where

right to the left of the beach.

Jackson saw a huge wave coming in off the horizon and so we moved

farther away from the beach when we noticed how big it was.

At the time no one put two and two

together to see that it was a tsunami.

So I popped in my head and I said "run like hell" and no one

asked any question so we ran to the nights point we could think of, mount Hamilton almost half

the size of the Rocky Mountains.

I don't think that Anyone besides Jackson, Emily , and I knew what was going to happen. So we sounded the alarm at the top of the hill.

After about 3 minutes you saw all the water rushing towards us at unbelievable speeds.

We all held hands and wished for the best. Luckily the hill was to high for the first wave to even reach.

By the time the first wave hit almost half of Hamilton and most of the next town over are swiped out.

The survivors included my three most favorite people in the world the people that I was holding hands with and of course my dog.

I am a foster child so I don't have parents but I ran away from the foster home to see my best friend.

My dog name is Molly.

She is a basset hound and one of the smartest people I know.

Jackson was sitting next to me now holding me hand because I was terrified I had only lived here for 2 years.

I can't blame with for holding my hand I was shacking and out of control.

Jackson had ran away from his family when he was eight and not a single member of his family cares.

But he's my family now he's all I have.

Emily she's not really our friend more like a pest that likes to stick around.

Emily I had ran off to her home to see if any of her family has survived.

It was tragic what happened to her family the got drowned by the water.

Emily was depressed and I was truly worrying about her, within 5 minutes of seeing her family dead she committed suicide.

Jackson and I fell the earth to see if it was safe to move but it wasn't.

The earth shook again and we knew what was coming so we climbed higher up the mount.

I decided to be brave and let go of his hand.

He looked me in the eye and told me he loved me, that meant a lot.

I kept thinking that we are only kids, why are we the only survivors .

But then I realized more than half of Hamilton is on the other side of mount Hamilton.

Now I was happier than before.

Now that we are almost close to the very top, we stopped to rest.

Jackson took me by the hand and told me " if we don't make it out I wanted to tell you I have a a crush in your since we met 3 years ago.

I was shocked that he said that and looked at him with great relief.

"I have always liked you too" I said and he smiled and kissed me on the forehead.

Now I know what your thinking so no we aren't dating yet.

But he was defiantly going to last for a awhile.

After about a thirty minute period and other earthquake happened but this time it was more tragic.

I looked at Jackson, we both heard screams and buildings falling, but we had no idea what was

really coming.
