Happy Belated Mothers Day
In the past few weeks, their connection was growing even further and neither of them were blind to it. Preston had finished his court charges, he completed his rehab program, and he'd been sober for six months. It was going well for Preston and Kayla. They were finally happy.
Preston took a deep breath as Kayla came out of her room sporting a gown she let him pick out. They were headed to a banquet for a nonprofit organization Kayla represented and Preston took everything overboard when she asked him to be her date. He picked her dress and his tux and he was excited. He and Kayla had never been seen out on a date as a couple, and he was fully prepared to let everyone know for certain that Kayla Davenport was his girlfriend and would be his wife eventually.
"You are so beautiful," he sighed dreamily as Kayla blushed.
"Thanks," she all but whispered as Preston took her hand and spun her around.
"I'm serious, you are... gracious and gorgeous. Goodness, I can't believe you waited to be with me and you're... well, you're you. I can't believe I've been blessed with a woman so smart and beautiful and with the purest heart. I love you so much," he said as he kissed her cheek, pulling her close.
"I love you, too. And really, thank you. I love that you love me and that makes me comfortable," she sighed as she kissed his lips.
"You nervous any?"
"I'm more nervous about leaving Bray than the speech," Kayla huffed.
"Oh, come on, baby. We deserve a night alone. It's been a long time and I want that for us. My mom is great with him. I promise he'll be fine," he assured.
