POV: Lucy
We walked slowly back from the cafe. Natsu had claimed that he wasn't using forbidden magic, but he wouldn't tell me any more. This time, he didn't hold me as we strolled to my apartment. We had spent over an hour there, and the sky was already darkening with clouds. Throughout the entire time that we were together, Natsu didn't relax, he stayed tense and on edge from beginning to end. When we could see the building, Natsu put a protective hand around my shoulder, the other quickly became engulfed in his fire.
“What is this smell?” he snarled, hunching like a cat ready to pounce.
There was a blur and Natsu shoved me back onto the stone, blocking then punching at whatever it was that had come at us.
“Who are you?” he growled, letting the flame coat his entire lean body,
“Not bad, Salamander.” It was the music voice.
She put her hands together and began to clap. I scrambled up, but not before Natsu extended his hand and helped me up, he let his fire burn out, then put his arms around me,
“Who the hell are you?” he snapped, glaring at her with a hatred that I hadn't been sure he was capable of showing.
“Ah, that will have to wait, young Dragon slayer.” she said, then she grinned devilishly, and sauntered away.
“Natsu, do you know her?” I asked, hoping that he wouldn't explode. The boys eyes were blazing, flames trickled out from his fists, and he was biting his lip (a habit I had never noticed).
“Go home. If you see that woman again, get the hell away from her immediately.” With that, he pulled away from me and began marching slowly away from the town.
I rushed up to my room, then looked out the window. Natsu had frozen the second he thought I couldn't see him. He collapsed to kneel on one knee, I could faintly see a purple bruise forming on his forearm where he had blocked the strange woman. He pulled his fist back, then punched it into the ground, leaving a huge crater in the street.
From one punch, I had always known he was strong... but this strong?
I turned around, and sitting in my desk was the strange woman.
“Lucy, the Heartfilia girl that Natsu fought so... recklessly, to protect from any opponent.” she plucked a half-finished letter to my mom from my desktop.
“Who are you?!” I shouted, I could feel my eyes widening as she stood,
“You're not a very good hostess are you? Well, I'll go bother your friends with my company then.” a greenish, translucent light swirled about her hands, “Blame yourself later.” then she was gone. Again. I shivered, she seemed to give off an evil aura, and for some reason I felt as though she was familiar...
I walked, subdued to my chair and plopped into it, lifting the letter that the woman had engaged.
Dear mom,
Fairy Tail is still great, but there are some things going on that are... well, weird. I don't really know when it started, probably the second we met, but I have fallen in love with Natsu Dragneel, he's just so-
Then there was a huge claw-rip in the paper, and written in sharp, uneven red, was,
'Writing is like showing someone your butt.'Don't write it if you don't want it read. Nice little life you have here, too bad it's going to go away. Bye bye, Luna
I sat there, dumbstruck. That was what Grey had said to me the first time that he learned I was writing a novel... how did she know about it? And what did she mean by Luna?
