What They Do

As Lucy got into the drivers seat, Natsu unwillingly got into the passengers seat. He felt a little awkward but that was surpassed by his want to spend some time alone with her. As Lucy started the car, Natus remembered she was a drag racer. Holy crap I'm gonna die by her crazy driving, he thought.

Lucy laughed and said "Don't worry. I only drive over the speed limit when it's my job".

Natsu looked horrified because he insulted her with what was supposed to be an inside thought. Lucy must've noticed because she laughed again and said "Yea you said that out loud".

The car was silent for the first five minutes until Lucy couldn't stand it any longer. She asked Natsu to get her phone and to connect the Bluetooth. As soon as she got to the red light, she took charge in choosing the tunes.

"You know the song Caffeine by Jeff Williams and Casey Lee Williams?" She asked with her eyes back on the road.

"Know it? I love it!!" He shrieked.

"Really? I didn't think someone like you would like a song like that" she said. She didn't mean to, but with that comment, she kinda hurt him.

Natsu was jamming out to the guys part, for he knew all the words. But what surprised him was when he started jamming out along with him to the girl part.

"I'm a cheetah on the plains,

That kinda shocked Natsu. Sure, she was cool but he did not expect her to start rapping along with him. He quickly shakes it off and began singing with her the part where they're both supposed to sing.

Once they finished the song in perfect sync, they high-fived each other. Lucy seemed unfazed but Natsu, on the other hand, was blushing intensely at the skin-to-skin contact.

A wave of silence washed over them as Natsu thought 'say something that her soulmate would say!!' Make her love you, you idiot!!'

"So," he started "I saw some game consoles in some of your boxes. I'm assuming you're a gamer?  I used to be before the whole superstar thing".

Lucy scoffed and said "Don't let the big things in life take away from the simple pleasures. But yea, I used to. When Luke left, he kinda left his games which he told me he deeply regretted, so I started getting into them. I stopped cuz it was getting kinda restraining. They were always like 'Don't jkshoot the wrong guy. Don't shoot the right guy too early. Don't shoot Captain McMillan in the leg for a laugh'. You know, the usual restraining rules."

He just had to laugh at that.

"You're just a veteran rule-breaker, aren't you?" He reasoned.

She looked at him for a second, as if studying him. She grinned and returned her eyes to the road.

"Look, dude, if you're gonna cripple your life with rules, then you're not really living at all. And besides, why would I want to. Rule-following just leads to unwanted things. Like school, for example, let's say you wanted to follow every rule and be the best student you could be. Why would you spend 12 years of you're life behind a desk, just so you could spend another 60 years behind a desk that gives you authority?"
