Chapter 9

(Lizzie's P.O.V.)

I slowly opened my eyes as soon as I heard my phone blast The Initiator by Fefe Dobson all throughout my room. I blinked multiple times trying to figure out what day it was. Monday. Labor day is today. Sweet!

A huge smile spread across my face as I grabbed my phone to answer the call without looking at it.

"Hello?" I spoke, my voice still groggy from sleep. I never really cared about what people thought of me. If you catch me in my messiest state then that's what you get. No one gets the special treatment from me.

"Wow, I thought your voice sounded sexy already but hearing your morning voice is a game changer." I heard Mike speak on the other side of the line. I smirked at his inappropriate comment and sat up in bed.

"Well I guess that is flattering, so I will take the compliment. Why did you call me at," I paused pulling my phone from my ear to check the time. "9 'oclock in the morning?"

"Well I was wondering if you wanted to chill today. You know just me and you." He asked me with confidence. I decided to play with him just a little bit.

"Are you asking me on a date? You know I don't really go on dates with people I met just three days ago." I only heard him chuckle before speaking once again.

"Well what if it wasn't a date but a... friendly get together?" "Well that's different. In that case I will hang out with you today." I stood up and made my way to the bathroom.

"Cool. So I'll pick you up in about an hour or so." He said.

"Sounds fine. See you soon." I then hung up to get ready.

Once I was fully dressed in a blue half sleeved baseball tee, black jeans and blue Chuck Taylors I sat in the living room and watched some TV to pass the time. There was a knock on my door and I shut off the TV. I grabbed my keys and shut off the lights before running to the door.

As soon as I opened the door I was greeted by a smiling Mike. He was dressed in simple grey skinnies, a ramones shirt and black chucks.

I smiled up at him in return and stepped out of the door. I locked the door and walked by his side in a comfortable silence. I finally decided to break the silence after we got into his car.

"So where are we headed?"

He looked over to me and flashed me a quick smile before turning his attention forward and driving out of the complex.

"Well, I figured we could head to Toys R Us and just mess around." He said with an evident smile in his voice. I smirked at his choice. Out of all the places, he chose one of my all time favorite places in the world.

The rest of the ride was made up of me dancing and singing to the radio and him laughing at me. We soon made it to the almost empty parking lot. He took the keys out of the ignition and got out of the car. I followed his lead and we made our way into the toy store.

This would have been a sight to see if the place were full. Two full grown teenagers, without a child by the way, walking and playing in a toy store. Oh well. People can deal with it.

"Where should we head first?" Mike looked in my direction with his hands in his pockets. I thought about it for a second. We both looked at each other with the exact same look.

"Bicycles!"

Before we knew it we were chasing each other down the isles of Toys R Us knocking down the many toys that sat on the shelves. I'll admit I was having a pretty good time. This just brings the kid in me out to play. And I love every minute of it.
