*TIMESKIP TO AGE 16*
RIIIING!! The school bell went off. Everyone gathered their stuff and made their way throughout the building. Asa was on her way out when her teacher stopped her. "Asa I would like you to stay here for a moment." Asa sighed and walked over to him. It was Friday after school and she was stuck talking to her most hated teacher, Mr. Morrison.
"Yeah what's up Morrison?" Asa asked him. Morrison sighed and put his glasses on his desk. He hated it when students called him that and not Mr. Morrison because it wasn't polite. Most students hated him because he was so strict all the time.
"I wanted to talk to you about something... Well more like ask if you don't mind. Please have a seat." Asa did as he asked and took a seat in the front row of desks. "I wanted to talk to you about the paranormal..." Asa felt a lump in her throat.
Does he know about Grey? Asa thought to herself. "Yeah what about it?" She wanted to get out of there and fast. She had a bad feeling about this.
"Well... Do you believe in ghosts, or other entities... perhaps demons per se?" Demons... Asa felt her palms start to sweat as she shook her head.
"No... Why would I believe some childhood figure like demons.. Those are just stories parents tell their kids to keep them in bed at night so they can get each other knocked up." Morrison sighed and stood up. he walked over to Asa and slammed his hands on her desk making her jump.
"Asa... Tch tch tch... I thought that you would actually believe me... considering the fact that you have one bonded with you..." Asa's eyes grew wide. "Now tell me... Where is he..." Asa shook her head. Morrison growled under his breath and slapped her across the face.
Asa gasped and held her cheek. She looked back at Morrison with wide eyes as he transformed into a monster. "He... Help.... Help!!! Grey!!!" She screamed at the top of her lungs. Just then Morrison wrapped his claws around Asa's throat tightening his grip. Asa gasped for air as she scratched at his claws.
"You shouldn't have done that Asa..." Asa was trembling with fear as she felt her life being taken.
"Grey... H-help..." She managed to spit out in her hoarse voice. All of a sudden, Morrison was pushed away from Asa and trapped against the wall. "Grey...?" She looked up at the boy who was holding her in his arms. Grey looked down at her her.
"Are you okay?" Asa nodded. Gray looked back up at Morrison, who was chuckling, with a cold glare. "So... You feel like you can attack my bonded freely as you like..." Grey gently sat Asa down against a desk since the other one was destroyed. He stood up and walked over to Morrison.
"Asa... Cover your eyes." Asa looked over at him and nodded as she closed her eyes and looked the other way. Morrison chuckled.
"You think you can kill me?! I'm a level B demon!! I'm basically invincible-" Grey cut him off short as Morrison's limp body fell to the floor. Grey walked back over to Asa and bent down next to her.
"You can open your eyes now." Asa hesitantly opened her eyes to see Grey and his smiling face. Asa wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him into a hug.
"T-thank you..." She said with tears brimming her eyes as she tried not to cry. Grey rubbed her back and picked her up. She wrapped her legs around him like how she used to when she was little. She buried her face into his shoulder and cried softly.
"Let's get you home..." With that, he teleported to her house and into the living room. Asa's dad, Jerry, walked out of his office and saw them.
"Grey..? Asa!? What happened?! Put her on the couch." Grey did as he said and put Asa down softly on the couch. Jerry walked over to her. "Asa what happened?" His daughter explained what had happened about Morrison and how Grey saved her.
Jerry wrapped his arms around his daughter and she quietly cried into his shoulder. He looked up at Grey who was looking back. Grey nodded knowing that he wanted to be alone with his daughter alone and he disappeared.
About half an hour later, Asa had cried herself to sleep on the couch. Jerry was sitting in his chair next to the couch. He couldn't help but think about what his daughter had told him about. She had almost died and he couldn't do anything about it...
Jerry sighed and walked into his office. He pulled out a small glass and a and a small whiskey bottle. He had told Asa that he stopped drinking back when she was three, but when he was stressed, he would have an occasional drink. Nothing to much to get him drunk, but enough to calm him down.
Grey appeared in front of his door. "Do you think that would be a wise decision Mr. Michales?" Jerry chuckled.
"Trust me kid... You can't be old and wise if you're never young and crazy." He said while pouring himself a drink.
"I was talking about with Asa in her condition." Jerry froze and set the bottle on his desk. He sighed and sat down in his chair. "Mr. Michales... I think it's time that we'd te-" Jerry cut him off by slamming his hands on his desk.
"Grey... we've been over this... I'm not putting her at more risk than she already is... And having her learn about her powers and travelling the world with you is even worse..." Grey walked over to him in front of his desk.
"I can protect her sir! Please just let me do my job!" Jerry stood up and slammed his hands on his desk.
"And let me do my job! I'm her father so let me protect her! And I don't want her going around killing demons! It's already bad enough that she knows about this stuff! I didn't want her to get involved and neither did Beth! So please.. Try to understand that... I'm just carrying out her last wishes..." Jerry said quietly and sat back down.
Grey sighed and nodded. "Alright sir... I'll be checking in every now and then..." With that, He disappeared.
