I quietly sat down at my position behind the counter of my dads gardens store. I sniffed, hating the smell of manure and dirt. But what could I really do? No one wanted to hire me, of course. Everyone said I was a freak.

But maybe they were all right...

I looked around nervously as I slowly, and yet gently rolled up my sleeves slowly. My golden fur glittered under my black sleeves. Red, swollen scars riddled my fur covered arms as I sighed.

'Golden girl, golden girl, who doesn't feel nothing at all.' Sang the voices of the children in my empty head. The song that they had taunted me with, all throughout my long school years.

I sighed as I placed my hands in my head, swaying side to side in the hard wooden chair. I peeked through my paws at the many animals passing the large, riddled with plants, windows.

A few of the animals looked inside... And quickly looked away. It wasn't like anyone came in nowadays, only my friends...

I stood up, rubbing my rolled up arms as I looked around. The smell of fresh dirt and manure tickled my snout as I grabbed a broom. My paws tightened around the old broom as I swept the fallen crusty dirt to a corner of the shop.

I looked up at the door nearby me, connecting my apartment to my dads shop. It was a wonder he hadn't came downstairs and talked with me at about thirty miles per hour.

I bit back a grin as I resumed sweeping, smiling quietly. My dad had always been a cheery man, which did make him one of the best dads a girl could have. I didn't mind that he and my mom had divorced a few years after my birth. Somewhere, deep in my furry gut I understood why- even though dad didn't like to talk about it.

I was never asked to go visit mom, even though I always saw a familiar fox with large (e/c) eyes pass the large windows of the store and always... Peek in. Dad was always here when she did, and seemed to stare intensely at her until she left. Now that I think about it, she hadn't passed the shop in a few days... Oh well.

My golden pointed ears started tingling as they flattened at the sudden noise from above me. A large thump and the sound of struggling. I frowned, placing the broom against the wall as I cracked the knuckles of my paws.

But suddenly, the sounds ended, and all was heard was the commotion from outside. I kept staring at the ceiling, my large (e/c) eyes flickering around in the dark looking around easily.

Suddenly the sound of scurrying came from the stairs and towards the door. I smiled softly as the familiar person barged in through the door.

Dad.

He was a tall handsome fox, even though age was catching up to him. His once bright red fur was covered with patches of grey and dirt. The corners of his eyes were wrinkled, even though they would sometimes sparkle when he would tell me a joke. But it was still my dad- and I loved him.

I bounced over, grinning widely as I wrapped my golden arms around my dad. "Dad!" I giggled as my father chuckled and hugged me back.

"Hey (Y/n)! Wow this place looks better than ever!" He said happily, glancing around the room with proudness in his blue eyes.

A blush crept to my furry cheeks as I stepped back. "Aww, Dad.... All I did was sweep up the floor." I said shyly, looking down at my golden paws.

My dad chuckled, looking back down at me as he rubbed my pointed ears affectionally. "Well you did a great job at it sweetheart." He smiled before frowning and placing a hand on my shoulder.

"Sweetheart, I feel something jabbing into the back my neck. Can you check what it is?" My dad asked with a smile as I nodded, confused, but complied. He turned around, rubbing the back of his neck as he placed down his red furry hand. I frowned, my eyes squinting at a small metal needle, poked into the back of his neck.

I shook my head and giggled. "Dad! It's just a tiny needle! Were you messing with the cactuses again?" I asked with a laugh as my father chucked and shrugged.

"I have no idea sweetheart. Probably, you never know with me." My dad said, a small smile tugging at his lips.

I smile once more and gently plucked out the needle, easily tossing it into the trash. I patted my paws together as if I was rushing some dirt from them. "It's off." I said proudly, crossing my golden arms as I waited for my dad to then around.

He didn't.

Except what he did was collapse.

My (e/c) eyes turned bigger than ever before, my mouth opening on a terrified scream. "Dad!? DAD!? DAD!?!?" I screamed in horror, part of my mental insanity breaking in shock as I fell to my knees.

I rolled over my hopefully unconscious dad as my eyes widened at his once blue eyes which had now turned white, a red foam spilling out of his mouth.

Blood.

I wheezed in shock as I snatched out my phone, typing in 911, the rectangular piece of smart technology shaking in my golden paws.

A man picked up, sounding like he was chewing on something. "Yes?" He asked in a muffled voice as I bite my lip.

"Y-You need to help me!" I sobbed brokenly, grasping my fathers fiery red paw in my weak golden one. Tears streamed freely down my cheeks as I shook violently.

I could feel the mans worried frown as I heard him put down what he was... Eating? "What's wrong!?" He asked, starting to wheeze to. I guess he wasn't used to calls of distress.

"It's my dad!" I sobbbed, glancing over at his bucking and kicking state.

"He's having a seizure!"
