also this takes place during the events of chapter 4 in my fic FE:Fates- A Strange Disappearance

Corrin couldn't sleep that night, so she decided to take a stroll through the castle gardens. What she found on that stroll was the last thing she thought she would see that night.

Instead of being tucked in bed asleep he was sitting there looking out at the castle grounds mumbling to himself.

"Laslow what are you doing out here? Especially at this time, you should be in your quarters asleep." She said interrupting his train of thought.

"How... How long have you been there?" He said stumbling over his words as she sat down next to him.

"Not long, don't worry I didn't hear anything. You don't look so good whats wrong?" She said concerned for her husband.

"Well other than being concerned for the whereabouts of Soleil and Kana. I've been worring about a spell." He admitted not caring of what the consequences of his words were.

"What spell?" Corrin questioned the young retainer. With that he just gave her a weak smile.

"In all do time my princess"

"No you can't give a dumb answer like that! You have to explain this time, Laslow!" She knew that it would be best for him to get this off his chest no matter the consequences.

"Well I guess there is no hiding now." He said bluntly

"What do you mea-"

"Well, do you know how hard it is to keep a huge secret a life changing one." He asked. She did have a hefty one to bare with the whole Valla secret.  But, what did he mean?

"I'm not sure i understand" She said looking him straight in the eye.

"One like your whole identity." He said looking to the ground.

"Wait...Laslow are you hiding something from me?" The princess asked tears beginning to swell in her eyes.

"Well, yes my princess I am. I never meant to, the plan was to serve and then leave and not make any connections, but then i met you." He started to expalin.

"Wait what?"

"The only reason I'm in Nohr is to uphold a promise I made. I never told you where I was from because it could give away my identity. Which i was told to keep secret." He started to confess refusing to look her in the eye.

"Then where are you from?" She questioned him.

"I'm from the place I suspect the children to be in."

"And that is"

"The halidom of Ylisse. The only reason i suspect them to be there is because of Odin possibly giving Ophelia to much information on her brand." He confessed darting his eyes away from the white haired princess.

"Wait what brand?" She asked in confusion.

"The brand of the excalt. It's the brand of the members of the royal family get. It's not like a regular brand more like a birthmark or a mark that shows up after an event that triggers it." He explained still refusing to look her in the eyes.

"And does that mean Odin is a royal?"

"Yes indeed it does. He has a slim chance of getting the thrown though being his mother the sister to the king and the king already has two heirs." The gray haired retainer explained glumly.

"You and Selena grew up with Odin correct what position does that make you and her then?"

"She's just a daughter of a royal Pegasus rider, but me on the other hand isn't as clean. I too am a royal, I'm Odin's cousin. Before you can question me anymore i must tell you a story though."

"okay" She responded hesitantly.

"Once, there was  a princess and a prince they were siblings in a time of war and death. So, the princess the leader came up with the idea of traveling back in time to correct it so there desolate future never happened. They both traveled back along with 10 children of the military their father lead. They defeated the fell dragon that caused their future, but afterward they were asked to help fight in a war that is not their own. Those children were the dancing mercenary, Inigo, The over dramatic swordsmen, Owain, and the perfection seeking mercenary, Severa. As you can tell by now my real name is Inigo, Odin's is owain, and Selena's is Severa." He explained slomely

"Please never lie to me again" She muttered tears beginning to swell in her eyes

"Never will I tell a lie to you again."
