(4 years later)

"Yes Kolby, how can I help you?"

It was four years later and a lot had changed. We finished out my first season with the Penguins in the game before the Stanley Cup Finals. We were so close to being in the finals but lost to the Rangers.

Last year, we won the Stanley cup and it was the best feeling.

After everything that had happened with Jake, he was arrested in his home in LA. He was charged with drug and weapon possesion, assault, and a lot more. I wasn't surprised when he got twenty three years without a chance of getting out early.

Beau and I were still going strong and he's been the best person to Lily still. She loves him to death and, since she is six almost seven, she understands more who he is.

Six months ago, Beau proposed to me on the ice in front of everyone and Lily was the happiest person. Her first question was, of course, 'So you are going to be my daddy?!' I had never seen Beau smile so big.

Beau, Lily, and I had moved into a house together right after that and I finally felt like I had my own little family. My perfect ideal thought of a life I had always wanted was actually coming true and there's was just one other thing that was going to happen.

"I wanted to talk to you." Twindling my fingers, I sat down in the chair infront of coach Johnston. "I'm not going to be able to finish out the season."

"Why not?" He looked confused but after a few seconds his eyes widened. "Really?! Congratulations! What did Beau say?"

"I haven't told him yet. I'm only eight weeks and I just found out for sure this morning. That's why I was sick and missed the last game."

We continued to talk a little bit before I went to talk to Beau. Coach nicely pointed me towards the gym and, again, congratulated me. I knew he was going to be happy for me.

"Beau, hey. Can we talk?"

"Of course babe. What's up?"

He was the only one in the gym so I wasn't worried about someone over hearing.

"I went to my doctor's appointment this morning and I have some news."

"Are you okay? What did she says?!"

"I'm fine love. I just, um, I'm not going to be able to play for the rest of the season."

"What's wrong?! Why can't you play?!"

I waited for a second to see if he would get it but I could tell all there was, was bad senarios running through his mind.

"I'm pregnant."

"What? You are?!" The second I nodded my head he started jumping up and down. "I can't believe this, holy crap. I'm going to be a father. I mean I already am but I'm going to be a father again."

His reaction made my heart swell and I felt a weight lift off my shoulders. I knew he was going to be happy but I didn't expect this happy.

"I'm eight weeks so in seven short months, we'll be meeting our son or daughter."

Smiling, he dropped to his knees and kissed my stomach.

"Hi baby. I hope you're okay in there. We can't wait to meet you. Don't worry, mommy won't be slammed into walls anymore, you'll be safe, I'll make sure of it."

"Babe, you know he or she, can't hear you." I hated to stop his little moment, that was honestly heart warming, but I couldn't help but laugh.

"I know but I've read that if you talk to your baby a lot, they'll know your voice when they're born."

"Where did you read that?"

"I've kind of, um, been reading books about kids and babies for awhile now. I wanted to be the best father I could to Lily and our future kids."

Before I could reply, the door opened. "Um, what's going on here?"

Sid stood in the doorway, eyebrows raised. I knew it was a weird sight, Beau on his knees in front of me, hands on either side of my stomach.

"We have some news."

We procceded to gather all of the guys into the locker room and Beau told them the news. There was many shouts of excitement as the guys congratulated us.

"Awww but that means we wont have Cub to help us win!" Olli made a sad face before hugging me. "I'm still happy for you guys, I just won't have my best friend here anymore."

"It's okay, it'll just be for a year at the most and I'll be back on the ice. You guys just might have to get use to a losing streak." I stuck my tongue out at them and laughed as Olli rolled his eyes.

"Olli, I actually wanted to ask you something too." Standing up on my toes, I whispered into Beau's ear. He smile and nodded his head at me. "Will you be our babies God father?"

"What?! Are you serious?!"

"Yes! I mean, you guys are all my best friends, and you'll all be uncles, I just want you to be God father/uncle, if you want too?"

"Of course I do." He happily hugged me tightly and picked me up, swinging me around.

"Wow! Olli, I know you're happy but be careful, please!" Beau grabbed me and pulled me away.

Before an argument could start, even though it would have been a funny one, Downie spoke up over the madness.

"Well, we're all very happy for you guys. Just promise you'll still come to some of the practices and help with plays."

"Of course I will Downs. I'll be here every practice and game. I promise."

"She just won't be able to get on the ice." Beau put his hand on my stomach in almost a protective way.

"Um, why not? As long as I don't get contact I'll be fine."

"Because, what if you fall or someone hits you with a puck accidentally Kolby. We can't chance it."

I knew Beau was the protective type but me being pregnant was probably going to be a whole new level.

I was sad that I wasn't going to be able to play for almost a year but I knew it was definitely going to be worth it. Hockey was my life for now so I had to enjoy it while I could, but Lily, Beau, and my unborn baby are my life, for forever.

After having this baby, I had already made up my mind, I was coming back to play. Coach had reassured me that I wasn't going to lose my spot and he was definitely wanting me to come play for him again.

Although it had been four years of me being in the NHL, I still knew I had to prove to some people that this could be a girl sport too. I was, and still want to be, Living Proof.
