"Beep......Beep.....Beep.....Beep...... "

From under the tangle of blankets a figure stirred a bit annoyed at the sound of the blaring alarm clock. Opening its olive green eyes trying to focus as a rush of light filled the room,

"Who the heck set it this early in the morning?"

Mia Thetra D. Hatem Thought to herself,

Ow yeah that's, right I did

, She suddenly remembered having done an all-nighter just to finish a Project due for the next day, well that's High school for you she thought again to herself.

She yawned a bit and tried clearing her mind from the drowsiness that still clung to her. With a bit of Reluctance to get up from Bed, she dragged herself up, shuffling her feet she made her bed. Making the Bed on a Chilly Friday morning felt like the covers was calling to her

Fifteen minutes more, come on lay your head on us just a few minutes more.

Sometimes the spirit of her bed covers won her over, but today she resisted those cozy little devils and instead tried to get to her bathroom. She looked into her mirror and saw that same face staring sleepily back at her, She had short, brunette hair, not too short to look like boy's hair but not too long to get into her face, she didn't like it when hair gets to her face. Her skin had a slight tan on it, well she does live in the Philippines,

Where the weather was a bit sunny at times. Her mom always told her she wasn't pale and she wasn't dark she had it just right.

She rubbed her Eyes a bit, her eyes , they were always olive green ever since she could remember which was quite strange for someone who had Filipino parents whose eye color were either black or brown

, her mother had brown eyes as well as her dad, some relatives on either side of the family had black eyes but never in the history of the Hathem family had there been a pair of olive green eyes

Well someone had to be different
that was what she always said whenever the topic came up.

After taking a shower when someone called her name.

"MIA.... Hurry up or you're going to be late!"
It was her mom calling out to her from the kitchen whilst preparing breakfast.

Eggs and hotdogs from what Mia could smell

"Yeah mom I'm coming" she answered hurrying up finishing changing into her red and black striped t shirt and jeans, she looked at the time it was 7:30 am

"Yikes that's not good" she thought to herself although she was just 10 blocks away from her school if she hurry she might just make it before the bell rang.

She ran to the kitchen nearly bumping into her dad who was also rushing to get to the table then to work.

"Hurry up Mia you're going to be late" he reminded her

"Don't you mean will both be late dad" she smiled at her dad

Her dad playfully punched her on the shoulder as they sat down on the table. The television was tuned to the morning news but Mia barely glanced up, there was something about a suicide last night, and another missing persons case.

"The apple never falls far from the tree, honey" her mother joked at her husband.

"Be careful while going to school OK theirs been a lot of news about a group that target students this last few days" her mom fussed while Mia ate her food,

About a week ago students from all over the city where they lived in started to go missing all of them where female students. No Ransom was ever called in not even a single suspects has been caught

The police suspected a large crime syndicate who were focused on human trafficking were involved, one that had an extensive reach.

After the meal and a lot of running about Mia was out the door waving good bye to her mom and her nearly late dad as she hurried to her school just 10 blocks away.

She had only taken a few steps from her home, Mia was checking her shoulder bag if she had left any of her things back at home when suddenly she felt a strange sensation.

She felt a cold Chill run up her left arm as if someone had placed cold water on it, the weird part was it was nearly summer the sun was shining its morning raise on the street she was walking on it was not even cloudy yet the chilly sensation made her hair stand on end. Whatever force compelled her to look at the street to her left made the cold sensation go away.

She was staring at a boy about her age staring back at her he was wearing a Gray hoodie pulled up to try and cover his face. He had headphones resting around his neck He already looked quite suspicious with his get up, even in the heat of the early morning sun he wore the sleeves of his jacket down. He tucked both hands in his front pocket.

The boy had long black hair as it covered half his face, he was just leaning on a building, where the owner had just started to open his Shop, not minding the kid he thought might be one of the street kids who sometimes loitered the street, most of the passer bye never gave him a second look thinking that he may be up to no good and better to walk faster as not to get in the middle of any trouble that may come up.

Mia saw the eyes that stared openly at her She automatically looked down and hastened her step toward school as soon as she looked away from the boy the cold sensation started again this time at her back as if it was pointing at the position of the boy, she immediately stopped walking and gathered her strength and turned around to look at the boy who was still following her with that strange gaze.

Mia has about had it with this creep she started to turn around and head back to give him a piece of her mind when suddenly the boy turned around and started walking towards the opposite direction

"Weirdo" She thought to herself still a bit shaken as she run toward the school cursing under her breath as she had lost precious few seconds to get to school in time. Thinking of the strange boy with olive green eyes
