Across the road atop a building overlooking Mia; after she tries to confront the boy and as she turns around and start running to school, the boy turning a corner walking with a relaxed stride. Two figures, a boy and and a girl, overlooked the scene before them.
"Lix , Are you sure it's her?" the boy spoke first while dangling both his feet on the edge of the building as if sitting atop a 10 story building was just like sitting on a couch at home, not a trace of fear on his Cherubic face.
"Hmmmmm.....About 70% sure..... Maybe" Lix smiles mischievously at the Scowling face of her partner Andre, her bright green eyes looking at his dark green eyes. Waiting for a reaction from him that amused her during dull the moments.
"Lix, Try not to tease Andre too much. It's important for us to find the right girl?" The boy with olive green eyes, who was looking at Mia, from across the road just a few seconds ago suddenly appeared from behind Lix and Andre
"Yeah, Yeah I know, so Caim How was it? Did you feel anything from her? What's she like?" Lix seemed unable to contain her curiosity.
"I felt something, not sure what though, like I was being lightly pulled to her, Can't say for sure what it was. You are right she may be a candidate. We need to observe her a bit." Caim said following the small figure of Mia in the distance running towards school.
"We need to get back to the Medium Regni and inform the council of the possibility of finding the filius aurorae "Andre spoke up
"No, not yet we are not yet sure if she truly carries Filius Aurorae within her" Caim answered
"Besides, false hope might prove as fatal as no hope right now. Go back to Medium Regni, I will watch over for now" Caim instructed his companions while kneeling and writing something on the concrete floor with a piece of chalk he made it so the writing formed a small circle in the middle of it he placed a piece of iron nail. He held a hand over the nail, then both his eyes and the palm of his hand glowed a yellow light lifting his hand away from the nail. In its place a small diamond shaped piece of metal was formed. Caim Picked up the Metal and gave it to Lix.
"I'll call for you if something goes wrong, I set up a gate for you to get back to Medium Regni, It's back there" Caim Pointed towards the door going to the stairs.
Lix and Andre Stared at each other, then back at Caim
"When did you set a gate? I was sure that me and Andre were first to be here. The winds never even picked up on any magic around us?" Lix looked surprised her eyes might have vanished into her hairline if she let it rose any higher.
Andre smiled his serious demeanor lightening a bit at the site of the mischivious Lix getting the short end of the stick for once" Lix you may be the Angelus of the wind, but I know for a fact that you can never detect Caim's Runes"
Lix snapped out of her state and pretended to be hurt by Andre's remark. A gust of wind suddenly blew at Caim Messing his hair a bit "Show off" Lix pouted
"Come on Andre lets go it's been a year since I had last been able to relax a bit, I've been on edge ever since they came through the Gates. Never thought the seals would have broken this early" she said stretching her arms to relieve some of her stress
Caim flinched he knew what she meant by they, the gates of Earth Realm (regna terrae) have been breached somehow and through them the Fallen came forth. It made him shudder to remember what his father had told about them.
Andre Groaned he never enjoyed traveling through gates. Caim watched as Lix pulled a reluctant Andre into the stair case where the Gate had been placed. As the door shut behind the pair, a light breeze blew into the spaces between the door frames it was gone as fast as it came. If anyone were to go up those stairs into the roof they would not have bumped into the pair that walked into those very same doors just a moment ago
Caim turned around smiling at his companions as they vanished. He had a long day in front of him hopefully not involving any of The Fallen coming to this area at all. Inhaling a deep breath and walking at the edge of the building he looked down at the near empty street below.
Just a few pedestrians, no one would notice
He thought to himself as he let his body fall feet first, his hands inside his front pocket, his hoodie once again raised to cover his face. Before he hit the ground he activated the runes he had placed on the soles of his feet, it only took him a fraction of a second to decelerate and a few just a few inches from the ground. As he landed on the soles of his feet, he jumps a bit.
To the normal onlooker who would have been near Caim at the time, they would just have seen a young teen who was just board out of his wits and just started jumping in place up and down.
When Caim was satisfied that no one has seen him he turns around and started walking towards Mia's School, blending silently into the growing crowd.
The people around him had no idea that someone in their midst was not exactly human but something much, much more
Caim for one had no idea himself that he was walking towards the person that would spark a great war, and that his actions for the next few years would determine the faith of Regna Terrae (Earth Realm), and his own Medium Regni (Middle Realm)
A/N: the fallen, angelus, gates? some phrase will be explained in later chapters this book is't even close to its mid point:) hope you live comments..... Who are the Angelus, The fallen? any theories oh and the 3 new characters there names I based on something of Christianity...
