Fearless Vampire Killers (fanfiction) The Cardinal Daughter's love is rejected

I breathe heavily in and feel my pounding chest with my hand gently.

I look silently across at Cyrus Barrone stood across from me.

Barrone gives me a weary look and gives a beautiful smile that makes my heart flutter.

Barrone walks a few steps to be standing at the side of me. "Alice I don't think we should be standing behind these trees, we're quite noticeable"

"Estelle maybe able to notice us here easily but least there's a exit pretty close to Ruple's before they find us together"

Estelle, The Cardinal's daughter knew me and Barrone love each other (We aren't going out though) Estelle hates me because she loves Barrone too.

Estelle is trying to ruin my life to get to Barrone.

She's already given me face injures and a broken arm, what next is to come?

Like The Cardinal, Estelle is a vampire like her father. But I don't know why a vampire would want to go out with a

vampire killer like Barrone?

Estelle has attacked Barrone a couple of times because Barrone wouldn't agree to date Estelle so Estelle keeps attacking Barrone until he agrees to date Estelle.

"Alice quick get further into the trees, The Cardinal's there" Barrone whispers beside me pointing to a nearby bush where The Cardinal is standing.

I push my way more further into the trees, getting cut on the way inside them, then I try to slow my breathing down to not attract attention to myself.

Me and Barrone are pushed close together into the trees. We're in the position where we're both of us are facing each other.

I can feel Barrone's heart against my own and how quick his breathing is now, that's how close we're standing.

I look around for people and try and hear sounds from where I am standing.

I face Barrone but I'm looking down at the ground still listening out for sounds, I didn't even realise at one point that Barrone got so close to me that he had his forehead gently rested on my forehead and the side of our noses were touching lightly.

My heart pounds in my chest even more at the touch of Barrone against me. Neither of us are looking at each other, mainly at the ground.

I can smell the sweet smell of deodorant coming from Barrone and I wish I could stay here and be close to Barrone all day. I knew this can never happen forever...

We both move back (Maybe coincidentally) and stare into each others eyes.

Everything around us is surprisingly silent, the next thing I knew mine and Barrone's lips gently brush against each others nearly for the kiss until a distant scream broke each other apart.

Barrone looks disappointed and faces the ground once more.

"That sounds like Kier" I mutter.

Barrone nods and looks out at the surroundings.

"The Cardinal's not out there any more, I should try and check for Kier... To see if he's around."

I nod. "Be careful" I warned.

Barrone went out of the trees and gave one last glance around before searching Grandomina.

I saw Barrone go past Toy Town and past the house The Cardinal and Estelle lives with their family.

I stand looking around for Estelle nervously, hoping not to be spotted.

Behind the trees I can see a church facing me with beautiful stain glass windows.
