The Heartbreaker: Part Two

The End... For Real This Time

I woke up to see the sun shining through Jade's window. I got confused then I remembered what happened. What Hayden said. I shake my head. Don't think about it Evelyn, it will only make things worse. I open my phone to see that Hayden texted me. It read," Meet me at Hyde Park. I know you probably want nothing to do with me but, just do this one thing for me. Please." I sigh. I contemplate going and decide why not? What's the worse that could happen? We could breakup but, I'm expecting that now. I quickly write a note on Jade's whiteboard in her room and walk out to meet Hayden at Hyde Park. 

I arrive at Hyde Park. I walk onto the green scenery. Hyde Park is the biggest park in the city so surprisingly there is a lot of flowers, trees, ponds and just a lot of wildlife. I walk on the green grass and breath in the earthy smell. I see Hayden sitting on a park bench with his head in his hands. My smile fades away. I've forgotten how it hurts to see him sad. I walk up to him and place a hand on his shoulder. Hayden looks up at me and his eyes are bloodshot. Tears stain his face and his face is red. Hayden stands up and places a hand on my arm. 

" I didn't mean what I said. I was just jealous. I was worried I was going to lose you.. to him. I said he was my best friend, well I lied. I'm sorry. I've lied to you..I,I,I've said words I haven't meant. I'm sorry. Please, don't leave me. I'm a mess without you. I know you deserve better but I love you and I don't know what I would do without you. I never thought anyone would make me feel the way you make me feel. I love you so much Evelyn Jane." Hayden pleads his tears falling from his eyes. 

" Oh Hayden, don't cry. It will be okay." I say using my sleeve to whip his tears away. Hayden brushes his hand across my hand. 

" I forgive you. I love you. I always will." I say jumping into his arms. We hug then we pull apart and kiss each other then hug again for longer afraid to let each other go. 

After going back to Jade's house to get my stuff, Hayden and I go back to our apartment. When we arrive Alan is at the door sitting on the doorstep. As soon as Alan sees us he races up to us. 

" Evelyn." Alan starts.

" No, no, no, no, no. Get away from me." I tell him. Alan has a hurt look.

" Why? What did I do to you?" Alan asks bewilder.

" What did you do to me? You made me depressed, you left me for her I don't care how much you plead I don't want you in my life anymore. I hate you Alan. Even if you love me I hate you." I say to him and push past him leaving him there. Hayden follows me and grabs my hand claiming me. I look back and see Alan looking at us with a look of sadness mixed with anger. I turn away and open the door to my apartment. I collapse on the couch. Hayden curls up next to me.

" I'm proud of you." Hayden tells me grabbing my hands into his as we lay down on the couch.

" Why"? I ask him confused.

" For standing up for yourself." Hayden explains. I smile. 

" Now that's the wonderful, beautiful smile I love to see." Hayden says smiling and kissing me on the cheek. 

" I love you." 

" I love you too."
