(A/N) It's super duper rushed oops and the ending sucks. Like literally you don't have to read this but if you want to go for it.

When Hinata arrived that afternoon, his shine didn't quite blind Kageyama as usual. It was strange. Hinata hardly uttered a single word for an hour.

About 30 minutes into their study session, Hinata sniffled. His big, golden eyes found Kageyama's as his small lips quivered and pouted. It didn't take much longer for the tears to begin to pour.

Kageyama's perpetual fed up expression evolved into dismay and his heart stopped as his little sun clouded over.

Soon, Hinata's petite frame was rocked by the waves of sobs that ripped through him, and Kageyama just couldn't take it anymore. He scooted around their little table, and pulled Hinata into his arms.

A breeze of Hinata's vanilla scent wafting into his nose as he wrapped his arms around his little angle, as he sat with his long legs splayed out, and with Hinata's his head in Kageyama's chest.

"H- Hana broke up with me, Kageyama..." He blubbered, clinging onto Kageyama's tear stained shirt. "It was so... r-random.."

"Shh, it's alright," Kageyama murmured, gently rocking him. "She didn't deserve you, y'know?"

Hinata nodded slowly into his chest, and Kageyama's heart seized up again.

"Hinata, I really hope you understand that. You are so precious to so many people, her taking you for granted is her loss. I look forward to seeing you, everyday. I love to race with you. Hell..." He paused, and Hinata sniffled and looked up at him with wide eyes.

Kageyama chuckled lightly and brushed away a tear from Hinata's face with his knuckle.

"Hinata, you're everything to me. My friend, my rival, my partner, my lo-..." His voice lost itself again, as if it didn't know what Kageyama was trying to finally spit out. "I l-lo-love you, dumbass Hinata."

Hinata's lips parted, an image of surprise opened up onto his face. Kageyama's eyes shot to the side, embarrassed to look at him after his hasty, rather random confession.

Really bad place, really bad timing.

"Kageyama..." Hinata blinked, before closing his mouth, and giving him a shut-eyed grin. "I love you, too, Kageyama. I've always loved you but I thought since we're both guys... Y'know... So I dated Hana." He hiccuped, rubbing his nose with his arm sleeve.

Kageyama's mouth split into a smile, and he crushed Hinata in a bear hug.

"I'm so glad... I'm so happy... My heart is all yours. The amount of stars in the night sky literally couldn't compare to my love for you."

Hinata giggled. "You're very poetic," he teased, reaching up and leaving a gentle kiss on his chin. "Bakageyama."

His face flushed and he sputtered. "Sh- Shut up, dumbass, Hinata..."

Hinata wrapped his arms around Kageyama's neck, and he squeezed. "Thank you for being here for me, I'm so glad you feel the same way."

A comfortable silence ensued, before Kageyama spoke.

"I was trembling when I told you, could you feel it?" Kageyama laughed.

"You shook so bad, I thought it was me!" Hinata said, and took a deep breath.

"Should we go back to homework?" Kageyama groaned.

"Gwaaah, studying kills me."

"Not as much as Daichi if we fail our exams."

Hinata's eyes widened. "Let's hurry then, what're you slacking off for!" He exclaimed, turning and grabbing his pencil. Kageyama shook his head, but followed suit.

Maybe things would change between them after the confession, but he was still idiot Hinata after all.
