                                                                                   The Artist & The Angel

Long ago in rural Italy, there lived many people. But there were two people everyone of the small town of Amore. There was an Artist by the initials of D.T.J. , and an Angel by the initials of L.Y.D. Not many people knew these two, for many would not talk to them. They lived on other sides of town, 15 miles apart from each other. Neither had any friends, but they both did not mind, for they enjoyed the peace and quiet. However, every night, both would wish that they had someone to love, and spend the quiet nights with. That would soon change.

The Artist was a kind man. Tall, thin, dark brown hair, a mixture of gold and green eyes, a strong mixture of French, Russian, and Italian blood. He was not very popular, and many people disliked him. He had a few people who he would interact with, to get some human interaction in his life. He was a good reader, but his favorite thing to do was at night, go to the countryside, and sit under an old oak tree, and just draw away. He would draw so many things. But he had one drawing that he treasured over all the others. It was of a girl he once saw in a dream. He never heard her voice, or felt her touch, but he had seen her, and once he woke up, he drew the image while still half asleep. He thought he would never find love, but he was very wrong.

Next was the Angel. She has 2 inches shorter than the Artist. She had dark curly hair, that she had cut short. She had dark chocolate eyes, that could see into people's souls and read them like a book. She had Italian blood, and was proud of it. She was not like angels in stories, that have wings and glow and always wear white. She had no wings, and always wore a black jacket and black pants. She was not very popular, but she was selfless. She would always put others before herself. She was attractive, but only one person thought so, but he had never met her, not yet. She loved to read, and play her flute. She was one who had also thought she would live her life alone, and being an angel, she would never die. So she would live until the end of time watching thousands of people fall in love, and never knowing what it is like. She would soon be rethinking those thoughts.

It was January 13th, and the Artist was at his tree, drawing as usual, but tonight, was the 1 year mark from the day he made the piece of the dream girl. But he had lit his lantern tonight to be able to see, and he would every few seconds, admire the picture of the girl. Around midnight, a gust of wind blew up and the picture went flying into the field in front of the tree. He had seen this, and started to chase after it, when he lost it. He sadly returned to the tree, not noticing he was not alone in the hillside. 50 feet away, stood the angel. She came here every night, to be alone, and sometimes cry to herself. She had never noticed a glow from the tree on the hill in the middle of the field.

She had started to walk to the tree to find out what it has, when a piece of paper fell to her feet. When she looked down, she saw what looked like a piece of paper from an artist sketch-book. When she picked it up and turned it over, she dropped it in shock of what she saw. It was her. When she picked it up to look at it again she saw how detailed it was. She saw how someone had drawn each individual hair on her head, and even drew the color of her eyes perfectly. When she looked at the bottom, there was something written. She had read the italian and it said, "Io un giorno, trovare l'angelo nei miei sogni." This translated was "I will one day find you, the angel in my dreams." When she read this she started to cry. And a single tear fell from her face, landing on the initials of who drew this piece of beauty. D.T.J.

The Artist had been upset about losing the drawing when he heard the voice of a girl crying. Being the person he was, he instantly got up and ran to a girl standing in the middle of a field holding what he recognized as his drawing. When he reached the mystery girl, he froze. He then saw, the face of the girl, was the same one in his drawing. When he snapped back to reality, he slowly walked over to the girl. She noticed a man walking to her, and instantly stopped crying. She saw the man, and thought he was going to hurt her. But she saw the initials on his coat, D.T.J. , and slowly got up, and handed him the drawing. But he just handed it back. He brought her to the tree, and told her about how she was the girl from a dream he once had. She believed every word, for he was the image of the person she created in her head, of a boy she saw when she was young, that she had liked until he died. They spent the night under the tree talking about their lives, and fell in love. The Artist told the angel that if she loved him, to meet him back here in three days, no more no less. And with that, they parted.

In three days, the angel was waiting by the tree, waiting for her love, when a man holding the Artist came to her and lay him down in the grass, under the tree. When the angel asked why he was asleep, the man said he was sorry, but the Artist had been shot by a stray bullet from a drunk man. And as he was dying, he asked the man to bring him here, so he may forever rest by the tree that he had first felt love under. And as he said that, he left the angel with the dead body of the one person she would ever love. She cried and cried, until she had made a decision. An angel can bring a person to life, by giving up their immortality, and as long as the person being brought back to life is alive, so will the Angel. So as quickly as she could, the Angel did the magic, and brought the Artist to life.

He opened his eyes, and waking from the dead, saw the angel crying and smiling. He knew what she had done, even though he had not meant for this to happen. He asked why she would give him her life, and heart, and the amazing gift she had been given, all to bring him back. But as the Angel sat there, she said only 3 words, that she would only ever say to him. "I love you." She wrapped her arms around the Artist, and she didn't let go for a long time. He held her in her arms and they fell asleep under the tree and woke the next morning.

As of now, the Artist and Angel have lived many lifetimes. Each in a different place. Now, they both live in Texas. They both always meet in different ways, but they first met in Italy, and had then been reincarnated as spirits of love to go on forever and live the rest of eternity finding each other over and over again. This time, they met when each was only 5 years old, but had not realized it. Until one day when in 7th grade. While attending Meridian World School, on January 16th, 2016, 400 years after the first meeting of the Artist and the Angel, two 7th graders had been reunited, and continued their story. However, the story is unfinished. And the funny part of all this is, you are reading the story of the Artist. My story is just now being told for the first time, and will be one that shall never end. This is the story, of me and my Angel, and our love that has been carried between us for hundreds of years.
