"Dylan really?! I don't think you're thinking straight." Tears are running down my face and I look Dylan straight in the eyes and shake my head. "I thought we were fine! Why- why are you doing this?"
He takes a deep breath and looks at the floor. "I'm sorry babe, it's just this isn't working anymore." He runs his fingers through his hair as he breaths out a shaky breath. He looks at me with sadness in his eyes. "I really am sorry Olivia." With that he gets up and leaves.
I walk home with the sound of my heavy boots hitting the ground and the sniffles coming from my nose. I think about how this happened, about why this is happening. What did I ever do wrong?
Once I get home I plop myself into my bed and decide to call my friend.
She answers quickly and says,"Hi, how was your birthday with Dylan?"
I just groan and turn in my bed. "Hannah." I breath. "This will probably be put down as the worst birthday ever." I groan again and look at the ceiling.
"Oh what happened?" She smacks her gum a little and then sighs.
I stay staring at the wall for a while before answering. "Dylan broke up with me."
I hear her shift in her squeaky bed and she scoffs, "He did what?" She chews her gum a little harder now making it hard to focus on my thoughts.
"He." I pause and take a deep breath in. "He broke up with me." My eyes start to get watery again and I force myself to stop the tears from falling out of my eyes.
She breaths heavily into the phone and then sighs. "I'll be over in a few." She hangs up the phone and I'm left alone in my quiet house.
