Chapter 6: The Pun Lizard

They let the Jaguar go, but not before punching it in the face one more time for good measure. The Jaguar had bolted away, not wanting to receive another blow to the nose.

"So do we actually head south?" Jane questioned, "What if the Jaguar was lying?"

"I wouldn't be too sure about that" Tom cast a smirk at Jane. "You scared him pretty well, he definitely must have told you the truth"

"I liked the "Jane Beats The Jaguar Up Show"" Jack laughed as he recalled the screams and kicks and punches, "I wish we didn't release Jane's punching bag so soon"

"I agree. But since you liked the "Jane Beats Jaguar Show", how would you like a "Jane beats Jack up Show?"

Jack nervously took a step away from Jane.

"But Jack has superstrength" Tom reminded her. "If he could just hit you, you would be immediately dazed"

"Like a John Cena RKO slam?" Jack grinned.

"Yeah... Sure"

The Trio walked on in silence.

Finally Jane stopped. "Guys" she said, "If Lord Creos sent his troops to find us, then would we be doing him a favor by going to him?"

Tom slapped his forehead, "Why hadn't I thought of that?" He muttered.

"Hah! I'm smarter than you! I'm smarter than you!" Jane started singing.

"But I have put together what Lord Creos wants us for" Tom rapped his thigh as they started walking once more. "The magic of the wish created him. So naturally he must know its power, and he knows we have it. So he wants the power of the button. He wants to rule the world, and he can do that by making one single wish."

Jane's song changed into "I'm not smarter than you... I'm not smarter than you..."

"So do we like, stop him?" Jack asked. "Is that why we're going towards him?"

"Well, we have superpowers," Tom said, "It should be quite easy to defeat him"

"But the talking Jaguar called him "The Lord Of Destruction." Isn't that supposed to mean something?"

Tom shrugged, "We're just gonna have to find out"

After a while, Jane got bored.

"Why are we even walking so slowly?" She finally said, "I mean, I can fly, Tom can run really fast, and Jack has superstrength"

"Will superstrength make you faster?" Jack looked at Jane.

"No, but Tom and I are fast! We should just immediately head there and wait for you!"

"We are not leaving each other" Tom commanded, "If one of us is slow, we stay slow with them"

"Ok ok, sheesh" Jane fell back to hover beside Jack. "Who made him leader of this group?"

"I guess you can say that he's "Big headed!"" Jack said.

A pun sound effect played behind them.

Tom, Jack, and Jane both stared at the Lizard-Like Monster sitting next to a set of drums.

The Lizard Monster gave a nervous grin, then scampered off, the drum sticks rolling off the drums and landing with a clatter on the floor.

Tom and Jane both looked at Jack.

"What? I never hired a personal pun drummer lizard guy!" He protested, "I didn't even know that was possible! But now that I've seen one..."

"We will NOT be hiring a personal pun drummer lizard guy"
