Chapter Two: Airports Suck

   Chapter 2:

     "I can feel you all around me, thickening the air I'm breathing, holding to what I'm feeling, savoring this heart that's healing." Lacey from Flyleaf's voice boomed out of my phone signaling it was time for Scarlette, Jordyn and I to get up. I groaned, really not liking the idea of getting up at five in the morning.

     I got out of my comfy, warm bed and was instantly greeted by coldness. "Holy shit!" I exclaimed, "It's like I'm living in Alaska with freaking penguins!" I shivered and put on a hoodie.

      Jordyn moaned, "Shut the hell up. It's too early to be yelling bitch." Then she yawned and started making sexual sounds.

      I laughed, "Bitch, take off that blanket and you'll know why I yelled!" I smirked, watching as she did as told.

      She gasped, obviously at how cold it was. "Fudging fudge poop fudge!"

     I stared at her like she was crazy, "Okaaaaaay then. Wake Scalette and go take a shower dude."

      Crossing her arms and pouting she said fine.

     I walked into my bathroom and took off my hoodie, tank and shorts. I stood in the mirror and took a look at myself. I could see my faded scars on my stomach and arms, bringing back painful memories. Tears welled up in my eyes but I blinked and shook my head. 

      "That was over two years ago, Alex. Just stop thinking about it." I told myself sternly and turned on my shower. While the water was heating up, I undressed fully and tested the water. When it was the right temperature, I got in.

     I started singing a song I knew by heart.

      "Close your tired eyes, 

        Relax, and then count from one to ten,

       And open them, all these heavy thoughts,

       Will try to weigh you down, but not this time.

       Way up in the air, you're finally free,

       And you can stay up there, right next to me,

       All this gravity, will try to pull you down, but not this time.

     So shine no matter where you are," I sang along as I thought of Adam's voice. (Adam is the singer in Owl City if you didn't know!!)

     I was done showering after about thirty minutes, leaving thirty minutes to get ready to leave. I brushed my teeth and washed my face. After exiting my bathroom I saw Scarlette emerging from the hallway, her hair dripping wet. Jordyn was the only one of us fully clothed.
