Anonymous POV

For years a man who calls himself the pied piper has been taking children from their homes in the darkest time of the night. Creatures that would make grown men cower at its very sight, hide in every crack and crevice and only come out in his presents. All that is seen of him is a shadow never a face just a black shadow In the corner of your eye and when you turn around to get a better look at it, its gone. He would take them to a place where no one ever ages, time stands still and children are children forever. How do I know all this.

Because I was taken by the pied piper.

I was miserable there was no doubt about it. No matter what I told others or what I told myself I hated life. I spent most of my days withdrawn from the world, from the bullies who throw insults at me down the school corridors. I tell myself it doesn't bother me but it does and that is reflected by the scars that mark my body, most self inflicted but some aren't. I prayed for someone to come and take me away from here, take me to a place filled with wonder and adventure. One night when I was in limbo, not asleep but not awake I whispered two words.

I believe.

I open my eyes and for a brief moment I was blind, unable to see where I was but my vision slowly started to repair itself. When my vision was fully restored I noticed I was face down on a beach. I slowly push myself up peeling my face of the ground and my bones cracking with the pressure of my weight on of them. I was on a beach. Waves lapping onto the white-washed shore in a synchronised rhythm. From were I lay I had a perfect view of the sun dipping behind the ocean, sky awash and ablaze with colours found only at the heart of fire. I watched how living the sky was, how mutable and changing it was. Tranquillity surged through my veins and I forgot about all the suffering and for once in my life I was genuinely happy. I stood up stretching my legs, my knees groaning at the sudden movement.  Behind the beach there was a forest, I started to walk into the forest a sense of adventure overtook me. The forest was different to the beach, stepping into the forest robbed you of one of your senses and heightened the others. It was disorientating to be almost blinded by the forest but to be given the ears of a wolf. Even the soft susurration of the branches felt heavy in the ears. The sense of smell was sensitized, the loam in the earth and the decomposing leaves made the atmosphere close and thick. the blackness nurtured a sense of claustrophobia inside you even though the woodland stretched unbroken for miles. The narrow path, which was made uneven by the knotted roots that crossed it, branched at intervals. there was no map to follow, but even if there was the perpetual dark would prevent you from using it. The air was thick and breathing became hard, I stumbled on roots that were protruding from the ground as I started to run back to the beach. When I reached the shore my lungs were screaming for air. I doubled over heaving desperately trying to fill my lungs with oxygen but to no avail. I place my hands onto my knees and lift my head up so I was looking out at the ocean, but there was someone standing there. "Excuse me but where am I ?" My words were slurred and incomprehensible as I pant still feeling out of breath and claustrophobic. The person turns around and he has a playful smirk on his face and his eyes burn into mine. "Why your in Neverland!" The boys say opening his arms guesting to the beach around him. He starts walking towards me his eyes never leaving mine and I feel my legs go weak and my eyes go blurry. I drop to the floor numb and I feel the presents of the boy kneeling next to me and he leans into my ear and whispers "And im Peter Pan"
