Jack had recently moved over to LA from his home town in Ireland to be closer with other YouTubers and some of his closets friends. However, money was still a problem for him so they only place he could really stay was with someone else till he could fine a place of his home. Mark had jumped at the idea of having a roommate so he would be so alone, and Jack was honestly the same. So they was sorted quite easily, and now Jack was sleeping in the spare room Mark had.
It had been a few weeks since Jack had moved in and he was already quite at home there. The room was personalised slightly to fit the Irsih man's own and they even had routines. If you were to have seen them you would've thought they'd have been room mates for years. It was incredible.
Right now, the two YouTubers were having guests over. No one special, just Bob and Wade to have a fun night together since they were all in the area. They'd pulled a few bottles of alcohol out, they'd seen a few movies and now they were just chatting about general stuff.
"Y'know, ever since Jack announced he's staying here, the amount of Septiplier fan art and fictions on the Internet has sky rocketed!" Wade said, making the green haired YouTuber blush slightly.
"Why would you even be looking?!" Mark asked with a laugh, making the other YouTuber blush in turn.
"... I get curious.." He murmured, making the currently red-headed male laugh more, Bob and Jack joining in with a chuckle.
"I can see why that'd happen though." Bob chirped in, making the two male's of the ship raise an eyebrow.
"Asking a guy to live with you because he has no where else to go is something friends would do." Mark said with a slightly confused tone, Jack nodding, equally confused but also embarrassed that they were talking about the topic. He tried not to show it in front of everyone to save questions being asked. Truth was, he had a crush on Mark. I know, no one saw that coming, right? Jack had liked Mark for a long while in all honesty and when he'd offered his home out Jack could barely contain his excitement to be able to be closer, both physically and emotionally, with his crush was fantastic.
"However! It would give an increasing chance of a secret relationship. Think about it, Mark!" Mark then started to think about it and shrugged, taking a swing of his beer.
"Meh. Still.. We're just close friends, right Jackieboy?" The half German swung his arm around his friend, making Jack force a nervous chuckle.
"Ha ha.. Yeah, really good friends." He smiled, hiding his awkwardness and disappointment behind it, wrapping his arm around Mark in a friendly way, wishing it would be more.
"Nah, I believe in Septiplier! The ship sail soon!" Bob chuckle, drinking more of his own drink. "It's totally real!" He almost yelled, making Mark frown, not in a mean way, but playful.
"You two are such fucking fangirls!" He laughed a little as he said it, which cause Jack to let out a small chuckle too. It was true though, they did act fangirl-ish as times. Half the time it was hard to tell if they were messing around or if they genuinely did want the ship to sail of into the sunset.
"Hey!" They both protested in unison, frowning playfully but soon they all ended up laughing. Jack could never shake of the disappointment he felt at those words. We're just close friends.. It hurt.. It really did.Friends...

Later in the night, Bob and Wade had left and after cleaning up, Mark and Jack both went to bed. It was probably around 1 in the morning when the storm rolled in, and the thunder grew louder and louder, waking a certain Irish-man from his deep slumber. He woke up with a startle, eyes wide as thunder rumbled outside, causing a small whimper to worm past his lips.
Shit! Was the first word that came to Jack's mind. It just had to fucking storm tonight, didn't it? He yelled in his mind, jumping at a sudden flash in the room. One thing that Jack had never told anybody was his fear of thunder and lighting. He never knew why he had it but it had always been something he was scared of, as well has heights. The sound creeped him out, and it had always sort of reminded him of some creepy horror movie scenario. Nothing good ever happened during storms.
Another loud bang of thunder made Jack jump, suddenly reaching to clutch his blanket around him as if it give him comfort.
Damn it.. I can't sit here all night listening to this! I could always go... No, that's not fair on Mark.. Yet again lightning flash joined by a rumble showing how close it really was to him. Fuck it!
The Irish-man jumped from his bed and ran quickly toward's his friends room, knocking on the door as the blush started to creep up his cheeks. The door soon opened as a very tired looking Markiplier stood, holding the handle. He was only wearing a shirt and boxers, making Jack gulp softly.
"Jack..? What're you doing up..? It's like.. 2 in the morning.." Mark mumbled, rubbing his eyes to clear them slightly.
"I, uh.." Jack started, but didn't know how to continue. Mark raised his eyebrow, waiting for what was so important. Then, when lighten shot through the house, he understood what Jack needed by his terrified expression and the way he gripped the blanket that never left his shoulders.
"You.. Are you scared of the storm?" He asked, Jack looking down in shame and nodding.
"I wanted to know if I could sleep in ye're room for ta night.." He mumbled, causing Mark to chuckle slightly, opening the door wider.
"Come on in. I don't mind." He said with a smile as his friend looked up in shock. Jack then sighed in relief that Mark hadn't thought that he was just being baby as he gladly entered the room. Mark laid back on the bed and gestured for his long term friend to do the same. Jack happily lead on the bed, not dating to sleep under the same sheet as his crush while he had no pants on, so he just pulled his blanket around him to get warmth. "Jack? Why're you sleeping on top of the sheet? You can come under. It'll be nice and warm." Mark said, sounding more awake than before but still groggy. Jack blushed hard, glad the room was too dark for anyone to see the red flushing his face.
"I, uh... Um, well.." He stumbled, before suddenly feeling a warmth over his body. He blinked and saw that Mark had placed the quilt over him, now lying on his back to sleep. "Thanks.." Jack said softly, Mark shrugging in response.
"No problem. Now sleep." Mark murmured, already starting to fall asleep as Jack did the same, the warmth comforting him through the storm, as well as the feeling or Mark's back pressed against his own, even while the bed was plenty big enough for them to have enough room..
