Hawkeye was facing tough times, his wife had left him, he couldn't see his children and all because of some dumb thing he did whilst he was drunk. He was living in the shield safe house at that time, but he couldn't stay long, he knew at some point someone would find out and then tell Director Fury. After what he did he was already on a warning he really didn't need anything else.

Luckily he was able to access everything - he was still a member of Shield - and that meant everything was free, but also on Shield's record so hours after settling in he had a visit from Maria Hill.

She explained how Shield were not going to do anything this time, but it should be the last.he knew he could no longer stay there and was told a friend of his would take him in, but it still didn't give him hope, and at that time that was what he needed most. She told him no more about the future; she didn't know herself what he must face. Together though they knew it wouldn't be easy for the archer.

A long helicopter ride and a short car journey lead him to the Avengers facility, where he met Captain America and Black Widow (A.K.A Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanova ), they were in the middle of training the new Avengers in their long ranged attacks. Natasha left Steve to it and greeted Clint (Hawkeye).

"Hey there you big baby," she said whilst putting on a strange voice, it was the sort off voice that would be used when talking to a younger person like a child or "baby". it confused him as he did not know why he was being called a baby, but due to the lack of sleep recently, he just ignored it and replied

"Hi."

"Wow, I have got some work to do." it was suddenly clear to him she was the person that he would be bunking with for a little while. "I mean killing minions and defeating villains is walk in the park compared to the thought of getting you back on your feet, ... you look a mess"she went on. He looked down at him self and realised he was still wearing the same clothes from the day he left his old house and his old life. Natasha's nose began to twitch and then she blurted "God you stink, why dot you go and fresh up at my house and then come back tomorrow?"

"Come back?" he shouted in surprise. "Come back? When was this arranged. You're not seriously expecting me to help them" he moaned as he looked over to the newbies.

" You're smarter than what you put on, I know you know more than how to whine people up and to shoot an arrow, maybe it's time you used your brain for something else. Plus it might take you mind off things." she tried to encourage him, but could see it wasn't working " Just think about it, ... please, for me."

"Maybe" he mumbled as he turned his head and walked back to the car.

Natasha ambled over to Steve "So did he agree to it?" Steve questioned.

"He's coming back tomorrow to help train this lot, but I'm not putting that much pressure on him yet he's not stable. He can barely manage to talk let alone guard a whole building. Let him settle in and become better and happier, then we ask. Okay?" she rambled cautiously, making sure no one was listening. "We should probably tell Nick"

"NICK!"cried Steve

"Quiet" snapped Natasha

"You can't be serious, we don't know anything for sure. We've had one strange email saying its from hydra that says well, NOTHING, and a letter that has 'R.I.P Avengers' in red paint covering the page. We don't know enough to tell him." he argued

"So we don't know enough to tell Fury, but you want Clint to guard the building at night because you think something is going to happen."

"Just forget about it, nothing is going to happen." he replied as he to walked off.

Later on, after a long day of worrying, Natasha came home to Clint fast asleep on the sofa with the t.v playing some strange show she'd never heard off. she turned it off and crabbed a microwave meal for one and went to her bedroom.

A few seconds later she heard a noise coming from the living room; she went to see what it was. As she entered the room Clint was bent over picking up food that he had knocked on the floor.

"Oh, uh sorry. I thought you gone to sleep. I uh woke up and i.."

"You were never asleep, were you? What's up" interrupted Natasha

" I haven't slept in weeks. I keep thinking of the kids and why I did what I did. God I feel stupid talking about it. Ignore me, go back to bed." Clint said as he goes to sit back down on the sofa. Before he's walks off Natasha grabs his hand.

"I care y'know. We both live our lives hiding from feelings, but maybe every now and again we should actually... y'know have them."

Clint goes on about his children and his life and how the baby was doing for over half an hour, and then silence. They stare into each others eyes and just stare a bit more until Clint realises Natasha never let go of his hand. He slowly moves the fingers from his other hand and interlock with hers until they are chest against chest and so deep in each others eyes they no longer need to talk to know what the other is saying. The spies both tilt their heads and lean in... their lips are soon against one another kiss and then more and then more and then Clint pulls away his lips and drags Natasha to the bed.
