Castle Oblivion, a place of memories and the old base of Organization XIII. Sora once journeyed here in hopes of finding Riku. He didn't find him but he found Namine. A young, quiet girl, who was his friend, she had bewitched Sora and took apart his memories, then put them all back together. At the end of his journey through the castle, he had explored all of the rooms leading to the top, where he found Namine.
While looking for Riku, he wasn't found in Castle Oblivion... not by Sora. But by Ansem. Riku had also faced half of the Organization working there along with Ansem leading to the bottom of the fortress. At this moment he had started to dawn the Organizations hood and help DiZ. Everyone had thought they had explored every room of the castle. But they missed one. Ventus's resting chamber.
In this room, Ventus has been trying to recover his heart for the time that had spanned through the time of more than ten years. He's remained dormant ever since he had faced his darkness, Vanitas, inside his heart. He and Vanitas had their final fight inside of their heart. But because they had fought outside in the real world, the X-Blade had been forged, yet it was incomplete. If Ventus were to shatter the blade, Vanitas and he, himself would destroy their hearts... since then his friend, Aqua has been in the Realm of Darkness. Terra, his "older brother" had been overcome by Xehanort and lost his body, and is now just an empty shell in the Keyblade Graveyard. They may have stopped Xehanort, but it costs two their hearts and one to reside in darkness alone... Ever since Ven has been resting.
"I have been wandering around this strange place forever..." Ventus sighed. "Been asleep for awhile, and exploring my heart that isn't there isn't easy when all thats left are bits and pieces of my memories." He started crying for seem reason. Yet, he didn't know how he could possibly feel emotion when he knew he didn't have a heart. "Huh, funny. No heart but I can still cry." His head started ringing loudly. The pain in Ventus's head was terrible. He felt like he was being torn apart. He fell to his knees and screamed in pain. Everything flashed white and he had suddenly heard heard voices...
"Oh no! Riku!! Are you okay?! Kairi, get some help!" That voice was somewhat familiar to Ven, as he'd heard it several other times when he had gotten these headaches. "Gotcha! Just as gullible as ever!" The familiar voice yelled as if it were relieved and frightened at the same time. "Riku! Don't ever do that again!" "Come on - you need to chill." Ventus was laughing at this 'Riku's' joke. He could hear this Kairi person giggling. "Kairi! Were you in on this with Riku?" She laughed a bit, "Yes I was. -, you've been on edge lately, why don't you come lay down at the beach with us like we used to?" Riku responded, "Thats an amazing idea, this knucklehead hasn't slept there in years. Remember how we'd be working on the raft and he'd be down there, sleeping like a baby?" They all laughed and the white light was finally gone. It reminded Ventus of himself and... Terra...
Ven hadn't seen nor heard of Terra in years. Last thing he could even remember was destroying the X-Blade and someone else, and he struggled just to remember those. There was no remembering his name... He had to admit, even through his journey to worlds such as Neverland and Radiant Garden, he had never felt scared. But thinking that something terrible had happened to Aqua and Terra made him scared. He felt terrified, broken even. Wait, he was already broken.
"What was that all about?" Ven noticed he had stopped crying and there was a smile on his face instead. "Why am I smiling? I should be sad..." He thought as he sat down, there was no hope, he had been wandering around aimlessly for years. The Broken Boy wanted to go home, to The Land of Departure. Back with Terra and Aqua, along with Master Eraqus, back to his room with all of his things. He had suddenly felt something behind him, it feld cold and empty. When he turned around there were monsters, not Unversed but something else, and they looked sinister. He tried to run away into the darkness so they'd never find him, but soon realized that he had almost fallen of a ledge.
