Chapter 2: Sparring and Kairi's Diary

Kairi was at the Island now, but Tidus, Wakka, and Selphie all had something to do this afternoon apparently, making Sora a bit sad they wouldn't be around today. "Hey Sora, Kairi?" They turned their heads to Riku, curious about what he was going to say, "Have you guys ever wondered? What it'd be like if Roxas and Namine were their own person? What it'd be like if they were here?" Sora looked at him and smiled, "Riku, I think that almost everyday. Roxas and Namine deserve to be their own person, just as much as we do!" Kairi chimed in happily. "Even if we were to never find a way to give them hearts, they'd be right here with us all the time. But I would like to see them have an actual heart."

"You two always find a way to look on the bright side of things." Sora chuckled, "Well somebody's gotta do it!" Riku smiled barely. Remembering how he had turned to the darkness and shoved them away so much. Sometimes he thought that he didn't deserve their friendship. "Hey Sora, you up for a bit of a competition?"

Sora kumped off the tree and summoned his Keyblade, "Yeah sure! Same rules?" Riku's small smile became a grin. "Yup. Lets go!" They got into their battle stances ready to fight, Riku holding his keyblade above his head, and Sora holding his behind him. "GO!" Kairi yelled from the tree. Riku proceeded to use normal attacks and reflect magic, blocking all of Sora's attacks. Sora scoffed and laughed, "Come on Riku when are you gonna attack?" It was funny watching him try to get through the barrier to Riku.

"I don't know Sora. How about... Now!" Riku yelled as he released the barrier and used Shadowbreaker. Sora was quick enough to respond with Ars Arcanum. Every spin attack Riku did, he respoded with several swings. "Looks like somebodies learned some new things!" Riku laughed as we kept clashing blades. Sora laughed too and smiled, "Yup, and I got another trick up my sleeve!" Sora had stopped the spin as he jumped back and spun the keyblade on his palm before flying through Riku, sending him flying.

"Nice trick, Sora! Now to finish this!" Riku landed against the tree before jumping off and using flowmotion to charge at Sora, he spun towards him, hitting him several times before flying up. "Now it's time for the finale!" He noticed Sora fly towards him with flowmotion, "What's yours is mine!" He flew at him spinning the keyblade, but Riku had retaliated with the same attack. What Sora said had caught Riku off guard for a second, but he regained his balance. That choice of wording was new for Sora, usually he yelled 'Gotcha!' or something like 'Together!' But Riku hadn't put much thought into it. An explosion from the collision happened before they both ran out of stamina and magic. After the sand cleared, Riku walked over to Sora before handing him a potion.

They went back up before they saw Kairi looking around the tree. Sora was the first to speak, "Hey Kairi, what's wrong?" Riku looked at her before speaking too, "Yeah, did you lose something?" She looked at them and responded with, "Yes, actually... I lost my bag, and I don't know where it is! Can you guys help me find it?" Before Riku could say that she probably left it at her house, Sora chimed in loudly, "Sure! Want us to check anywhere in particular?" She had asked them to check the back of the island. So Riku surrendering and gave up trying before he went to look.

The two went to the back of the island, where all the palm trees stood. Kairi had asked them to look for her bag there, while she searched in the Secret Place and the beach. Riku was searching the tree tops while Sora looked down below, "Nothing up here!" He waited for Sora to respond and he said, "Nothing here either!"

The two soon gave up and went back to the tree near the front of the island and waited for Kairi, when she returned she had asked if either of them had found her bag, and they simply responded, "Nope. We searched everywhere for it." Riku was trying to think of places she could have left it until Sora smiled and spoke, "I think I know where it is!" Riku and Kairi were both surprised that Sora of all people had figured it out, as usually he would try to do something instead of using his head, "You? Used your head instead of searching random places?" He smiled and responded, "Yep I di-... Hey!" Kairi chuckled to herself and the two looked at her, "What?" Sora and Riku said simultaneously. "You two are funny when you argue!" Riku and Sora looked at each other and laughed. "Well... Sora, if you know where her bag might be go search." He dashed off to the other side of the front of the island.
