It was a dark night with a cold wind from the North. A roll of fog rolled in like a blanket covering everything in its way. Miraz (Caspian's Uncle) was standing on his balcony looking out into the fog. His face contorted with deep thought. The screams of his wife, Prunaprismia, could be heard throughout the old, cold castle to which Miraz called home.

Prunaprismia was giving birth. Nurses ran in and out of her royal chambers carrying cloths and bowls full of water. They placed damp cloths on her forehead. She screamed again but another small weak cry could be heard as well. A baby's. Queen Prunaprismia had given birth to a son.

Miraz's General Glozelle ran along the cold corridor to the room on which Miraz was standing on its balcony. He knocked on the door once before going in. He crept up slowly behind Miraz who was still deep in thought.

"Sir, it's a boy, you have a son," Glozelle told Miraz. Miraz smiled into the fog. A sneaky, mean, snarl like smile which could only lead to a bad thing.

Meanwhile, when all this was happening two children were sleeping completely oblivious of what was happening.

A small fragile 14-year-old girl was asleep in her chambers. Her name was Princess Eloise I. She had waist length, light brown hair with piercing Emerald eyes. She was the pride and joy of the kingdom. Some said the Gods had chosen her to come down to them. Her mother had died shortly after her birth. Still, her father loved her more than anyone else and after his death when she was only 5, her uncle had fell in love with the young girl and raised her like his own.

On the other side of the castle slept a 15-year-old boy. His name Prince Caspian X. He had shoulder length dark brown hair with dark hazelnut eyes. He was the heir to the throne. He was rarely seen by the people as his uncle, Miraz, kept him inside with his tutor, Dr Cornelius who taught him the olden age of Narnia secretly. He was the older brother of Princess Eloise I and he would protect her with his life.

(Back on the balcony with Miraz and General Glozelle)

"Now that I have a son, you know what to do" Miraz ordered Glozelle. Glozelle nodded and walked off to fetch some soldiers.

However, during this encounter, someone had been listening. That someone was Dr Cornelius! He quickly and quietly rushed to Caspian's room.

He placed his hand over Caspian's mouth to stop him from screaming.

"5 more minutes," Caspian said rolling over onto his side away from the professor.

"There will be no star gazing tonight my young prince," The professor said shaking Prince Caspian. Caspian turned with a surprised facial expression. The professor explained more "Your Uncle has a son, born tonight" It took Caspian a couple of minutes to realise the danger he was in. Caspian got up straight away and grabbed his clock. He went to open his door.

"No, this way" Whispered Dr Cornelius opening an entrance to a separate tower where Caspian, Eloise and their professor studied the stars and spoke about the age of Old Narnia. Just as Caspian shut the door behind him, Glozelle came in with other guards all were Carrying crossbows. Glozelle lifted his arm and all raised their crossbows ready to shoot. All of them aimed at Caspian's bed. Glozelle dropped his arm and all shot at Caspian's bed. Caspian quickly and quietly shut the door.

They were rushing down the cold, dark stairs of the tower when Caspian had a thought.

"Eloise! We have left her" Caspian gasped at the thought of his little sister being injured.

"Don't worry, my young prince you uncle won't lay a finger on her" The professor stated. He then didn't hear any footsteps behind him. He looked back and saw that Prince Caspian wasn't there. He knew he had gone to fetch his little sister and he also knew Caspian would head straight for the stables after he had retrieved her. He decided to go and wait there.

Caspian sprinted along the cold corridors of the castle. He was heading straight for his sisters room. He kept to the shadows so not to be seen. He arrived at his sister's large oak door and opened it quietly so not to attract attention. He closed it behind him. A little click was heard and that's stirred Eloise from her sleep.

"Cas? What are you doing here?" Eloise asked her brother who was now standing in the middle of her room.

"We need to go, leave the castle tonight, right now and never return," Cas told her flinging a dark sapphire cloak in the diretion of the bed. The cloak lannded softly in front of Eloise, where she sat in her bed.

"But why?"

"A son, our uncle has a son" Eloise then realise the danger she was putting her brother in and quickly got out of bed and drapped the cloak around her. Caspian took hold of her cold hand and tugged her out of the oak doors and into the cold and empty, dark passages. He took one leading to the left and continued to follow it, hidding occasionaly so not to be seen.

At last the young prince and princess reached the stables, which was dimly lit with a faw candles. It was there they saw their much loved Proffessor standing there with two sadled up horses. Eloise ran and gave him a hug.

"Now you two must go and not return till it is safe, take this my prince and use it only when needed"

"What is this?" Asked Caspain in a state of aww by the horns beauty.

"It is the horn of Queen Susan, Now go!" The proffesor hit Caspain's and then Eloise's horse to make them gallop.

They did not look back, but instead to the deep dark forest that was looming up ahead.

Wtih a deep breath the young sibilings galloped in!
