More than This

"Izzy?" Luke asked. I blinked, and looked up.

"Yeah, baby?" I said. He frowned, his aubren hair falling in his eyes.

"You haven't spoken for two minutes" he said. The ring was still on the table. It was beautiful, I suppose. A huge diamond, with sapphires and rubies forming a ring of colour around it. It must have cost a foutune. And it was not me at all.

"I-I'm shocked, Luke" I stuttered. I was suddenly intrieged by a lock of hair.

"Izzy, I love you, and I want to be with you" Luke declared, pulling my hand into his. I abruptly snatched it away. Hurt registered in his grey eyes, but I didn't care about that right now.

"Luke, we're nineteen. We haven't even finished University" I said, painfully aware the whole cafe was staring at us. He sighed, and ran his hand through his hair.

"I just want to show how much I love you" he muttered. I squirmed. Our relationship hadn't been right for years, he knew that. We'd been dating since we were fifteen, but the love had died when we were seventeen. I honestly had no idea why we were still together.

"I know, but marriage?" I snapped, "Luke, we are so not ready for this"

"I am! What's your problem, Izzy? Have you been seeing James behind my back?" he retorted. I stood up in rage. James had been my best friend for years, nothing more.

"You know perfectly well James is gay!" I yelled.

Luke stood too, his eyes glinting in fury.

"Well what is it then?" he demanded. I looked around quickly. Now everyone had stopped eating, and was gaping at us.

" Mind your own business" I snarled at them. I then snatched up the stupid ring, and my bag.

"Come on, lets go outside" I hissed at Luke. He trailed after me into an alley way.

I turned towards him, about to say something, but Luke pinned me against the wall, hand on my neck. I screamed in alarm, but I was soon cut off my Luke squeezing my throat. My eyes flickered towards him in terror, wondering what had happened to him. He was smiling in a sadistic way, and bent forwards to whisper in my ear.

"Listen to me, Isabel. You are going to marry me, like it or not" I made a horrid choking noise, as I felt the oxygen leaving my body. He fished out the ring, and rammed it onto my finger, taking skin with it.

"P-P-Pleasee!" I begged. He punched me in the face over and over again, then let me drop to the ground. Luke stepped over my limp, gasping form, and joined the Londoners on their way back from work. The last thing I remember before I slipped into unconsciousness was a cute, irish voice yelling for help.
