Natsu's POV

After I heard Lucy sing I knew that she had a shot at actually winning. I never heard a voice like hers before. It stunned me. Literally.

"Natsu, where are we going?" Happy asked, trying to keep up with me.

"I need to go somewhere! Just meet me back at home!"

"Okay!"

He turned back around without questioning. Which was good because I knew he would take the piss if he knew where I was going. No. I'm not telling you either. Let's just say it will help Lucy's performance.

I looked around this place for a while until I found what I wanted. I picked it up and went to buy it. The cashier of course made the 'for your girlfriend?' joke; which I quickly corrected. After I paid I made my way back to my home to wrap it. Once done I rushed back to Lucy's. I went to knock...when I heard her singing.

I wonder if she's singing about anyone in particular? If so I wonder who.

Lucy's POV

"On a road far from home
The world I wished to roam
All over the land
All over the seas
All over where I may please

But in a small town by a dock one day
Is where my destiny lay
I found the key to my future and joy
In an odd-coloured hair energetic boy

He didn't seem like much
But my heart, he did touch
Can't get him outta my head
He clears all the tears that I shed

Can't get him outta my mind
When we first met he was so kind
Although he can be too much to bare
Having him so close to me seems fair"

Just then I heard a knock at my door and I abruptly stopped. I walked over to the door, hoping it wasn't my landlady or a neighbour telling me to shut up. As I opened the door, I let out a sigh. It was Natsu.

"So where did you wiz off to?" I questioned.

"You'll see in a minute. Song seems to be goin good."

"Y-you heard that?"

"Uh-hu. Sounds like your sining about someone with all that description."

"What?!? Uh. No. Nope. Not singing about anyone or anything." I panicked. "Just letting the words exit through my mouth is all."

Okay yes. It's what you're thinking. It's about Natsu. Don't blame me! All the words just came out! I swear! And I can't change it, it won't work. I tried but all the came out was a random ramble of words.

"Either way, here."

He passed me a somewhat, neatly wrapped parcel. It felt soft.

"Natsu...did you..?"

"Just open it."

His face brushed slightly pink as he turned away. I placed the gift in the table and carful my unwrapped it, Natsu hovering over my shoulder. I took the item of fabric out of the paper and held it up. It was a dress. It was the same blue colour as on my sailor uniform. (See image. Yes Ik it's not the same blue but just imagine it is.)

"Natsu

"Natsu..."

I was completely amazed. It looked brand new. It even still had the tag on it.  35,000 Jewels. It was fairly expensive.

Wait...did he literally just get this now? Is that why he ran out?

"No need to thank me. After all a beautiful voice needs a beautiful appearance."

As son as the words were out his mouth he went pink again and looked away. Without thinking I just hugged him.

"Thanks Natsu." I smiled, tearing up slightly.

He stood awkwardly for a moment before hugging back. It felt warm again. Like when I was sleeping at his while he was sick the other day. After a short while we parted and I turned my attention back to the dress.

"Well, I'm going to head to the Guild Hall. See ya there."

Without another word he dashed off again. I smiled at the dress. I decided to try it on, and I loved it. It fit perfectly and it was so comfortable. I looked in the mirror and counts T help but smile wide. I quickly got changed back and started heading out to the Hall. Just as I passed the big tree, I noticed a girl laying fast asleep under it. I walked up to her.

Her hair was light purple worth light blue ends. She wore a small purple dress, with a black jacket over the top, with black leggings. She had a black belt which was hanging loosely from the loops in her dress. Her boots where just above ankle level and were also black, but with purple trimming. She seemed fairly short. Around 5"1'. "Hey. You awake?" I asked softly, kneeling beside her.

Her eyes flickered open to show a pair of purple eyes.

"Why are you sleeping under a tree?" I asked.

"Huh? Oh. I guess I just drifted off." She smiled sheepishly.

"Heh. Well anywhere you were going before you will asleep?"

"Not in particular. Was just roaming around."

"Do you live here, in Magnolia?"

"Nope. I just travel around. Stay in inns."

"How do you get your money? You in a guild?"

"No. I just do whatever work heads my way and people reward me for it." She informed. "Like on my way here an old guys cart busted down, so I helped him carry it back to his place. So he gave me some cash."

"Wow. That's interesting." I smiled. "Well I have to go meet my friends at my Guild. You're free to come along if you want."

"No thanks. I'm fine here."

Then I just git up and started walking. Only when I entered the hall did I realise...

I forgot to ask her name.

I spotted Natsu from across the room, he was looking at the request board. I joined him in our search and managed to find the one I saw earlier. We picked it up, told Mira and went on our way.

"So what's this one for?" Natsu questioned.

"Looks simple enough. We just have to deliver this box to this guy who lives in the next town over." I stated.

It was a beautiful box. It was dark brown wood with jewels encrusted in a lovely pattern. The instructions clearly stated for us to not open it.

And just like I predicted, it was easy. We were back home by nightfall. No trouble, just a few wrong turns to get to the guys house. Turns out there was a ring in the box. He was planning to give it to his daughter for her birthday. We got our reward of 30,000 Jewels, which we split evenly. Natsu immediately spent half of it on food, while I put mine in my piggy bank at home.
