Sybill had received an exclusive invitation to a masquerade hosted by the ministry of magic . She didn't want anyone to know she was the old seer. She picked out a gown that would be drastically different from her usual attire.This gown was long and hugged her body tightly .It was a dark green with lace and long sleeve. she wore a mask that covered the upper half of her face . She had used an iron to straighten out her curls. for the special occasion applied a generous amount of light pink lipstick with a cat eye and mascara . Lastly,she put on six inch pumps and left Hogwarts.
She apparated to the venue and walked through the door. As she walked in the room was filled with people and loud music . Sybill panicked as she saw all the important wizards in the community had attended. She focused on maintaining her balance.quickly scanning the room and noticed several people she knew.
After what seemed like ages a tall dark haired man approached her. He extended his hand and politely asked her for the next dance. She graciously accepted and headed towards the dance floor. He took her by the hand and place the other on her hip. As the music started Sybill fumbled trying to follow his lead . After a few mistakes they both glided on the dance floor. She managed to smile a little when he wasn't looking. She felt free from her cares and worries. As the song ended he bowed to her and asked if she wanted to stay for one more dance. "No, dear but thank you for the offer."
She walked to the courtyard and the man quickly followed . Sybill didn't realized she was holding his hand tightly and released it. "Oh I'm sorry I..." He grinned as she sat down and walked over to her." It's quit alright miss" Sybill felt her heart racing as her cheeks turned a bright pink . No one's ever tried to speak to her what was she supposed to say ? She bit her lip and turned her attention to the fountain. He chuckled a light hearted laugh before he spoke
" I'm sorry if I come off as bold when I say this but your extremely gorgeous."
She turn to look at him again with a puzzling look " what me? You think so?"
He took her by the hand and lightly kissed it.
" yes why do you doubt it?"
She nodded and cleared Her throat
" I umm...thank you I usually don't attend these sorts of things I apologize if I seem distant."
The man's gaze fell to his feet before scooting his chair closer to her.
"Honestly I don't either but something told me it would be a good idea." He kissed her lips softly before speaking again "
may I ask who are you I've never seen you before and it would be nice to know your name ?"
Sybill was shocked that he kissed her and she was left speechless. After a few minutes she broke the silence " you go first .
" He sighed and leaned back into his chair" very well I'm Severus Snape potions master your turn." She started to breathe heavily and he knelt down to hold her hand . " if it upsets you it's fine will do it slowly ." She was confused about what he meant until he reached up to her mask. She shut her eyes tightly fearing the worst .oh Merlin she thought if he sees her he would regret the kiss for sure. When he finished Untighing the ribbon he pulled the mask off and gazed up at her. " I-I-I'm Sybill Trelawney Divinations professor she said with a broken voice . " she had tears streaming down her face and she quickly covered her face. Severus reached for her hand and pulled it towards him. " I know who you are ." She stopped sniffling and looked up at him " you you do but how?" Severus laughed and pulled her in for a tight embrace.he leaned in to whisper in her ear " because I know the funny way you scrunch up your nose ." She slapped his shoulder playfully but didn't let go. He pulled away with an idiotic smile. " would you still like me tomorrow when I return to my normal self without all this glamor ?" Severus stood up as he noticed Sybill was shivering the fall air seemed to have started sooner than expected. Severus took off his cloak and wrapped it around Sybill. " my dear this you and Hogwarts you are one in the same."
Sybill looked confused but didn't say a word.
Severus's hands were undoubtedly shaking when Sybill reach for them.
"It's alright " she grinned .
He took a deep breath before he looked back her " would you like to go out with me sometime?"
"Yes she giggled I would love to"
Severus picked her up and spun her around .
Sybill placed her head on his chest and he held her tightly. They stayed silent for a few moments when it started to rain.
"Ah, my hair it's going to frizz up again "
Make up was running down Sybill's face and her hair was drenched in water.
Severus smiled and tried to wipe off a little makeup off from under her eyes but smeared it.
"Don't worry so much I love your curls we shouldn't probably be heading home anyways."
He took her by the hand and Sybill followed him close asSeverus escorted her home.
