Chapter 27 - Isabel Rose Sugg

Chapter 27

Today is izzy's christening, she is dressed in her beautiful cream dress with a cream headband. l however don't have a clue what to wear a all of my clothes are still too small for me due to my pregnancy weight. I think I am going to go with a nice black and gold knee length dress that I got for a party last year.

Joe has gone with the simple suit so that, in his words he looks "dad like", which I thought does work as he does look very smart in it. Alfie said he would do the same as "head godfather and uncle", me and Zoe just think that it is kind of cute as they are being all protective of her.

As you know Zoe and Alfie and Poppy and Sean are her godparents so we got them little presents to say thank you for all of their support and help with everything which we will give to them at the party afterwards. We got them both pictures of her that we got taken a few weeks ago where she is in a pretty pink dress sat laughing at a white teddy bear with a pink bow. She looks so adorable.

As we walk out of the flat joe shouts "I forgot my phone grab it please" as I go to get it it lights up and I see his photo it's a picture of Izzy as a baby and I mean a tiny baby, I think this was the day she came home and she is in her moses basket. I have really realised over the last couple of weeks how much he loves her but I just can't stop thinking about Alfie, I know it's wrong I shouldn't be thinking about him in that way but I am...

As I get in the car Joe gives me a kiss on the cheek and all the thoughts get washed away again as I remember of the happy family I have here. "Got everything?" He asked and I just nod.

As we arrive at the church everyone is waiting outside in lovely clothes and coats as it is still pretty cold. I greet everyone as I make my way over to the doors to walk in when I feel a hand on my arm. I turn around and it's Zoe with sad eyes "What's the matter?" I said.

"My dad's going to be late" she said looking like she was going to cry.

"Zoe it's fine how far away is he?"

"10 minutes"

"I will hold it off as long as possible, I know what the traffic is like"

"Thanks"

As we were all sat in the church I went up to the priest to ask him if he could put of the baptism for another couple of minutes as a very important person wasn't here yet and he said that he would try his best.

Just as he was going to start Graham walked through the doors, he had a massive smile on his face as he realised that he hadn't missed anything yet "Ah granddad Sugg" the priest said causing everyone to laugh "right we can start now, can I have the little princess with her parents and godparents"

We all walked up to the altar, Joe had Izzy in his arms and he was grinning like mad "right so what is this beautiful princesses full name?" the priest asked.

"Isabel Rose Sugg" I said smiling at him and Joe's grin grew more.

"Now I like to ask for the parents and godparents names just so I can address them properly"

"Megan Young"

"Joe Sugg"

"Alfie Deyes"

"Zoe Sugg"

"Poppy Deyes"

"Sean O'Connor"

"Right we have the Suggs and Deyes with the extras, each to remember" he said laughing.

He took Izzy from Joe and lay her over the bowl, "Isabel Rose Sugg, I baptise you in the name of the father, son and holy spirit" and passed her back and she didn't cry at all "now I am going to light the baptism candle" he said reaching up and lighting it "Alfie I will give that to you as you don't have pretty long hair to get in the way"

After the service we all went back to a little hall where Amanda had set up a buffet and bought a beautiful cake that was white with pink building blocks that said her name on it (picture above, Isobel is close enough) and little pink banner everywhere. It was so nice to see both sides of the family together for the first time, even Tracy and Graham were talking in the corner properly plotting something to do with us.

"Right everyone, I just want to say thank you for coming today on Izzy's special day, I can see that she is being past around nicely from table to table like a present" Joe started making everyone laugh "now I know that most of you already know that she isn't actually mine, if she was then something was wrong, but anyway at first everyone said I was crazy starting a relationship with a girl I met a few weeks ago but I knew it was right and now I have the most amazing daughter in the world" I had tears in my eyes "now just seeing everyone realise that I did actually make the right decision makes me so happy, I mean my mam and dad are her grandparents legally and are amazing, Amanda and Nick you are just fab at being her other grandparents, you have taken her in and treat her like she is your own, Izzy and Megan that is" Amanda now had tears "all I wan to say is thank you to everyone especially to Izzy's godparents the Deyes and O'Connor, sorry I had to, you have just been amazing so as a thank you we got you these" that was my cue to take the pictures over to them however Alfie had Izzy so I swapped him... they opened them and the girls well up... actually Zoe was crying.

"These are amazing" Poppy said wiping her eyes.

The rest of the day was filled with talking to family members and laughing at Izzy trying to crawl around the floor bless her.
